New Grower White widow autofem XTRM CFL closet grow

I got some phosphorus potassium magnesium and calcium yesterday and some cactus soil for covering those nutrient granules. I got a few calcium chunks on 2sticks and because I watered first try dissolved before I could remove them. That possibly combined with my lights caused a slight burn on a few leaves. Still having difficulties finalizing an idea for my Chandelier.. here's the burnt

Potash is 0-0-60. Triple phosphate is 0-45-0. Garden gypsum is CaSO↓4. That plant food to the left will probably be saved until summer's outdoor rookie grow begins.

2sticks has passed. Although I germed 3 more beans on Tuesday, I'm still bummed. That was the one that was looking dominant. I guess I'll split the soil to thin the nutrients I put in there amongst the pots for the second group of babies. Getting closer to a light plan...Oy....I hope I get a crop. I NEED to get a crop.

Be careful what you wish for. That's this week's lesson, but lemonade is on the way!

I got more soil. Two more pots. The seeds that were germinating into them. My wish previously was a more controlled experiment with my soils. So that what we have. I mixed up the upper layer of what remained of 2sticks (RIP) and tossed a popped seed in. 2sticks was the pot that had the higher concentration on soil additives. Princess pines conditions were replicated in a pot, and the remaining pot is to be a control, with baccto premium lite soil with 12 cups of vermiculite added for soil lightness and a hint of EWC and guano.

My soil is really quite warm for the princess at 93*F. No signs of heat stress, so we'll keep an eye on that too. Uhhhh...Lemme take a pic

Well princess pine is officially a lady! Of the the I had germinated, it was looking like my control want going to make it out of the soil, but fifteen minutes ago, I see a chunk of green pushing through the sphagnum! Yayyyy!!! That makes a full grow closet!! Oh, I'm so relieved!!

Princess pine can't seem to get pictures when she isn't all hot and wet... Move along, bluto

@center right on the stalk, you can see tiny hairs!

Aaaaaaaannnnnnd if you need to see pics of 1 day old seedlings, go elsewhere!!:pass:

Wow.. ^that guy's a dick^!

I got more water today, after I put 3 & 16 together yesterday, and realized that I have hard limey water, thenceforth I shall purchase water.

I also grabbed some molasses. I had a choice betwixt blackstrap or unsulfured, none yet claimed both. Against my better judgment, I chose the unsulfured item, skipping the blackstrap due to unknowns.

OH!! And I diy'd a carbon filter by getting a jug of activated charcoal, sheer knee socks and one large/one small pencil holders.
Fill large pencil holder with charcoal until the smaller pencil holders rim sits flush with the largers. Place the small pencil holder in the sheer sock, so the bottom is in the toes, then take the excess sock and stuff it into the pencil area. Place the sock-cup in the larger cup with charcoal. Center the small cup. Then, shake the granules of charcoal into the cavity that is encapsulated by the cups. Once that is filled, tap the filter lightly to consolidate the charcoal. Retrieve the stuffed sock cuff, and holding down the small/inner cup, stretch the cuff over the larger/outer cup and pull towards the bottom of the filter. Twist the cuff 360* (like your closing bread) and pull the sock back towards the open end. At this point, you can tape the sock into place and seal up the unit. Cut a hole and/or rig it how you need. Pro tip: re-activate carbon by baking in the oven @350*f for 30 minutes! I'll provide pics when I return home, or just goggle it!

So the old lady got the power bill last night.....I may be shedding a few seedlings and growing the fuck outta some plants this summer. Womp womp. Gahhh!!!! Is LED the cheapest electrical cost compounded by the longest light life? I can't afford to, but I needs to get and stay cheap!! Just as soon as I get a little relief, it climbs out of the drain again.... More ponytails tonight

Lighting/grow closet: what size would be best to utilize my lights, do I need more lights? Wiring at the end of this section. 3 CFL e26 socket compatible circular 6" long @65 watts, 3900 lumens, color temp 4100k (to be used throughout the grow) hung from mobile ceiling; 4 triple tube flat CFL 8" long 6" wide (4 pin socket) @65 watts, 3400 lumens, 6500k (placed on walls? To be slowly turned off as flowing progresses); 4 CFL incandescent style (bumped to 8 as the triple tubes get turned off) @19 watts, 950 lumens, color temp 2490k. Overall, this makes output produce 531 watts/29100 lumens; flowering 347 watts/19100 lumens.

Cabinet sizes that seem best to me: 3' long x 1.5' deep x 6' tall or 4' x 2' x 6'. Interior to be painted brilliant flat white. For my mobile ceiling, should I paint it or should I get a reflectors?

Hey there!

If you're putting together all those CFLs to make
531 W / 347 W in just 3'x1.5' (4.5'sq) or 4'x2' (6'sq),
that's about 100 W/sf give or take.
Not sure how many W/sf needed for CFL.

Why not go for about 200-300 W of LED power?
That's maybe 40-50 W/sf which is enough.
(Ex. 400 W in 3'x3' is about right.)

But with 200-300 W of LED, your power bill
will be much lower than all those CFLs.
Sure, costs a bit more on the set up,
but the power bill differences easily pay for it.

Not to mention the actual result...
Bigger buds, bro!!
