Gnome Automatics White JEM/Black Dragon

FD!!!! Welcome home and let me bless the new thread and growroom! :smokeit:

So glad to see you back in action!
subbed mate! :check:

Ahh thanks JM I appreciate it and welcome the blessings and hope that they bring a bumper first crop.
I'm glad to be back in action hope I can make a few new breakthroughs

So there was another strain along side these two, however the seed wasn't any good which kinda sucks but right now i have roughly 18 plants above soil. They were a version of the dragon that a past member had grown and seeded. A few of them started tiny tails and i was a little leery to waste soil on them so i let them ride an extra day in the paper towel but they stalled out. Tap roots didnt get any longer as i suspected. All the others were up in 3-4 days and that was from papertowel to seeing them actually break the dirt.

Hopefully with the 18 that are up i will get a good male to female ratio from them. Like ive stated before 12 of them are JEM the other six are the Dragons.

Right now i am in the process of putting together my irrigation kit. I have all the hoses spray heads and water timer. The only thing that i am waiting on is a pump so i can use o2 saturated PH perfect water. I am not sure what the tap is here as my pH pen is dead and i need batteries. I also have a PPM meter coming to check nutes. something i am going to do different this time is push a few of the females with the FF stuff. I have grow big in the stash as well as the tiger bloom.

You know you're a "bad influence" :crying: You are probly gonna make me try the drip. I been watching a few and seems like its a good solution to help out with some of the hrs

Well this isnt really a drip system, its actually a spray head, they were given to me from a friend and i knew that i could put them to good use. I normally dont use something like this as i like to hand water them, there is something connecting for me by doing that. sure i can appreciate a automated system and what not but at the same time i like the interaction with the plants. Also i can get a better handle on something if it goes wrong this way as far as plant needs. If its automated and i never have to watch it what is the fun.

I get bitched at at work all the time because i like to do things manually. Cause we script a lot of things and use SCCm to do a lot of work. But i love hands on.

Update

Today is a week since i placed them in the paper towels and things are rocking along nice. Ive got several healthy plants going on right now and not only the plant that were all here for.

The jalapenos are just starting to break the soil, so not worth a pic at this tim.

Ok so i think that i actually hit my first roadblock. nothing major and no damage to the plants just really slow growth. Im having a hard time keeping the rh over 35....which is really really low. I did a heavy water tonight and cut back some fans in the room. Hope that this till raise it a bit after about an hour it raised to 41% so that is a little better. I have a fogger system that i have hooked up and connected to fog them after the lights go down but will not be running it tonight as the water has already gone into the plants and i dont want to risk over water on them. I will let them ride tomorrow and see what happens to them. I am also going to grab a warm mist humidifier this weekend to get that rh as close to 50+ as i can.

New room, new challenges have to get them right and its not gonna happen first time after 4 years of not growing. The fogger will do at night until i can get the humidifier in there and get things back up as i dont want to run it with the lights on because i dont want water all over the bulbs when they are warm as they could break or cause a short. Something that i dont want at all.

So i did some looking as well as took some time to think about the above situation. I also did some reading today about transpiration and the effect it has on cannabis. Seems the stoma's didnt like what i had going on in there at all and its slowed the growth. with the rH being that low and my temps at 77-80 transpiration was happening too fast.

This is my first time growing the starting phase with T5 HO lights. I had the idea that i needed them right on top and all that was causing was high heat on the seedlings. So i raised the hood and the temps chilled out a little bit. Also I went ahead and added the mister system to the hood of the lamp did a few manual runs and it seems that the direction of the spray isnt as bad as i thought it would be. Te result of all this lower temps and higher rH. So well see if this actually makes a difference in the room and these guys are growing but a little on the slow side.
