Gnome Automatics White JEM/Black Dragon

Loving this thread fd! Only ever grown autofems myself so learning so much along the way. I always thought a reg seeds sex was predetermined before it cracked. But stress more likely to make them be male makes sense

Thanks man i really appreciate you reading along for the journey good to know i still have people interested in what i do since there are so many good growers here now. The whole stress thing i learned really by accident over years of growing autos. Then ive talked about it with a few others that breed and they have seen the same things with stress and high male ratios. Also starting them in ferted soils will also cause a high male ratio so watch out for that if you ever grow reg seed. I was a believer to that sex was determined before the seed was cracked. But seeing what i saw here again as well in the past really put the nail in the coffin. I had 8 dragon and they all went male on me. I know Mossy's genetics are way better than that. It was completely environmental stress.

I have to give mine a better environs I rekon... I have no idea what I do wrong. All of my auto fem all turn out to be beautiful healthy plants but I'm like 0 for 9 running regular autos looking for females

I hear ya mate and just like this dragon run, i had a lot of males on the first round of dragons. Couple things that i have always seen that cause males are stress from open root transplants, and high ferted starting soil. Seems there is something to that that makes a higher male ratio. But like i was saying before, i did a mass germ in the pot. No transplant and let them finish in the pot they start in and got a 60/40 split female to male. There were 11 and 6 are female, wayyyy better than the first attempt that decided to stall out on me. But i still got some girls out of the group, the second lot did so much better. I really like the black gold soil too seems to be good stuff.

Another theory i have had and i think that Mossy has mentioned it before. Start two or three in the same pot and let them go to sex, something about the course of life cycle that you may get a female that way, kinda like the plants trying to sustain life...just an idea that i thought that i would share.

So ive been talking about and showing off the Jems but i havent showed dragons. Other than the male that im in love with at the moment. I may have an issue.

BUT the females do exist...i just had to work up the courage to post them as they are sacred to me and i want to do them justice. they are still young but growing at the right rate they are 3 weeks old.
