Extraction Where's all the eth extractors?

In the meantime for the rest of my weekend I ran the small batch of QWISO that I had set aside from last weekend( still didn't do the BHO) ..I did not use any heat at all ,just a small fan( outdoors of course) .My final step is a low heat purge at 100 F to clear all alcohol out and get it to a shatter consistency !! More Hash-Ventures coming soon ...Peace !!!

Hi @archie gemmill ,Thanks for stopping by !! The material was not a big deal,still have plenty,,for me the worst part was taking the book for granted,cause ive had it for about a year,,Most of its good info,but a lot of it uses equipment that is way out of my price range..Ill do another batch the proper way and let everyone know how they turn out..Peace !!

and I think the material can be reused,it could be re-decarbed at a higher temp and used in edibles cause the lecithin in it..peace!!
 
Hi guys,after reading thru the capsule chapter of beyond buds,I think I will just use our forums methods.Whaddya think @pop22 ??? I will decarb at 245-250 F max temp for minimum of 30 min..This means that the previous material can be recommissioned for another attempt,I will use the coconut oil since it was bought for the canna-oil in the first place (for food edibles)..I am including a couple screen shots from the book cause it says decarbing should be done at 100 degrees F ...Any thoughts anybody?? I am shooting for fall down and sh!t your pants,potent/high thc ...Peace

Back at it again with the last of the Chem Dog photo buds.Just as a reminder ,I never double wash my eth,so whatever is left over goes to a "gumby" run,which will prolly take place next weekend..my process is changing a little as I move along but I usually post any new info...more coming,stay tuned !!

decarb at 100F??? yeah would take about a week........... maybe longer, the plant material would be kinda funky by then I'd thinking..lol!
at 200F it will take many hours. at 252F for 27 minutes, decarb is aboyt 97%. within 3 more minutes, THC begins a rapid break down into CBN, that why I do 250 for 26 minutes. since I've used this temp guideline for decarbing, my oil have been consistently very potent. I rarely re-run my material, but I do use a cheap garlic press and squeeze all the oil out I can. You can reclaim about 15% more oil that way and wastes less time than recooking.

AVB makes a great base for capsule grade oil as you don't have to taste it. Cook the AVB then re-cook the oil with trim or bud. It makes great daytime caps as the AVB tends to give it an up buzz.

I did some research on iso alcohol. Yep, its not something you want to drink. But its actually not nearly as bad as you'd think. 4oz. is lethal, 8oz of 192 grain alcohol is lethal......... I also found that you'd have to smoke about a pound of poorly purged qiwso to be affected adversely......... So QWISO is safer than , I at least, realized.

Given tha ISO is easier and cheaper to get, I think I may try my hand at making a batch, I've got a fair amount of trim in the freezer....

ok and i re-read that and if you can get an oven to set at 100F its great for drying. as it won't really do much for decarbing, i find drying at 170F ( my oven's minimum temp ) works well.
 
my iso is 99.9% there is only 0.1% of stuff in this bottle of iso that is unknown.im led to believe it is water,but I could be wrong.
what is the other stuff in bottles of 70%-97% iso ?
don't think we can get grain alcohol here in uk,and the 70%iso is used for getting paint off brushes etc.
im beginning to think it was a typo,the 'and decarbing'shouldnt have been there.100 maybe the lowest setting of ovens,used to dry the herbs.:pighug:
 
the other .1% is water as its very difficult to get it purer than that. 99% alcohol of any kind can pull water right from the air so don't leave bottles open any longer than need be.
