Where to snip a sample?

I have a little microscope that works best in the stand rather than handheld.

For looking at trichomes I'd like to snip a tiny bit of bud and view it that way.

What part of the plant?
I'm thinking mid main cola a little ways down?

Don't do that mate. I've ordered myself a mic stand in which the usb microscope fits. It's quite the hassle to get it fixed into position, but when you do...Pictures are freaking sharp.
