When Are Your Seeds Ready to Harvest

What if your all seeds aren´t ready at the same time? Should you take the ones that´s open, or what?

It´s still forming seeds, but i have two or three pods that´s opened up a couple of days ago.

Harvest the seeds as they mature. I have had them stretch over a 2-week period for maturation.....Keep in mind the seeds take longer than one might expect to mature. Even after they split open, I leave them there for a few extra days. They should just fall out with little effort. You shouldn't have to dig them out of the pod.

I mostly agree with you about the longer you leave them the better they are. Seeds are funny things some of them fall out easy and others don't. Just like when they hatch sometimes the bod just falls of on its own and sometimes I have to breack the pod open with my fingernail. I have seen people harvest their seeds in many ways. Some just let them fall out on there own like you do. The only problem with that is you might lose a few as they hit the branches on the way down and deflect into the ozone. I take the buds off and pick them out by hand. Some others let them really dry and shake them in a strainer letting the pot fall through and then pick out the sticks and other debris till you are left with only the seeds.

We could argue which method is best but really they are your plants and your seeds so do it the way you prefer. My seeds grow fine. I bet yours do also. It would take a carefull study to check for viability of the different methods. Good luck with your growing.

What you are saying is exactly the truth. Seeds on the same plant are at different stages of maturity cause some get polinated earlier than others.

I take a bud off of the plant and take the seeds off of it. I consider a plant ready to harvest for seeds when the bud has at least 80% mature seeds in it. Then I take the whole plant. You must decide for yourself when you harvest your plant. If you the time and enough of the season left you can wait till the seeds are folling to the ground. Then it is a case of deminishing returns I think. The ones you lose to dropping becomes greater than the immature seeds you throw away.

These are my first seeds that i made by myself. And i don´t have any experience with this. But i got some advice to just leave it for anothe week, and dry it after that, becouse i´m a noob that may be the easiest way to start learning these skills.

But i have to thank you guys for the feedback. :) I appreciate it. :)

There is no substitute for just doing it. Every mistake you make is a valuable learning experience.

Hey man post anytime you want i'm not paying for the space.

I think the size looks fine. Most of the time they come out a little darker. They look a little on the green side. Certain strains tend to be greener than others and that may be the case.

As a rule of thumb I find white seeds hardly ever sprought. Green ones tend to be abut half viable. If they hatch the greenness won't be a factor on their growth.

If I didn't answer to your satisfaction ask again and I will try again
