even 12/12 will give good results.

It seems that 12//12 in general does not give "good" results, marginally it could / does but not advisable with auto's and it is not the best lighting.."My 2 cents"

Peace!

I voted "other" cause I start with 24/0 then switch to 20/4 a week or two after flowers appear.

Think 21/3 is a good ratio, currently i use 20/4 but thinking on next grow of using 21/3, just gives a that extra hour which could bump up yield.. what does everyone think ?

from my own experience there wasn't that much difference between 12/12 and 20/4. on a side note starting a non auto along side the autos from seed on 12/12 the plant was only a foot or so tall and finished same time as the autos.

lighting poll

I realy dont under stand why this is in debate ,its obvious 24/0 has to be the best, simple and elegant. No stress due to light leaks-No issues with timer malfunction- easier to maintain a constant temperature-less fire risk because of arking- the slight increase in electric bills offset by increased bulb life- increased yield irefutable- and also autos evolved to function in areas where the sun never sets so why screw nature and finaly, why buy autos in the first place, if we have to mess around with lights might as well grow photos and stunt them if space is an issue, cheers me deers and festive herbal complements ho ho ho.

Exactly where is this location where autos evolved where the sun never sets?

Actually it's the other way around they evolved in areas with short grow seasons. A dark period is needed to stimulate root growth, Thats why most are running at least 4 hours of dark. Production went up in veg for me once I went from 24 to 18/6..Opps sorry bob must of been typing at the same time.

Russia, Siberia....name ruderalis took its name from russian, I think

The closest places would be the north and south pole where the sun never sets for six months and never rises for six months.
