Another excellent thread but frustratingly open ended.
I found this thread and thought 'aha, a sticky, that will have the definitive answer'
But, alas, there is no definitive answer, only many personal preferences all with their own 'proof in the pudding'
If I have the opportunity soon I shall wait until I have 2 identical phenos at sex stage and shall completely cover one of them for 12 hours whilst leaving the other on my usual 24/0.
This should iron out a few variables while using the 2 ends of the lighting recommendations, the maximum amount and the minimum, there would be still of course be many variables and as such the results would not give a definitive answer, that would take hundreds of tests on many different strains etc but it would least give a meagre insight into the possible variations different light cycles could produce.
