What went wrong with those babies? Want to learn from my mistake

Hey buddy,

Presoaking isn't necessary and I wouldn't even do that as young seedlings can easily be drowned in a to wet soil...What I would do is water them sparingly around the seedling and wait until she drinks that and then water more. always keep the wet spot (in the soil) as wide as the leaves are.

Hi friends,

It's been a difficult and frustrating week, given that I can't shake my grow out of the infirmary section.

So here we are at Day 3-4(ish) for the Round 2 of another 3 seeds.

They haven´t moved much since potted. One in particular apparently has no meristem yet, just cotyledons.

Watered 400ml each with pH 6.0 tap water ppm 75.

Please share your thoughts. Been really painfull get through past seedling stage.

I keep being optimistic thinking they´ve must be working underground on root mass
Otherwise I´m feeling hopeless unsure of if I keep doing the same error consistently
The one baby with no sign of leaves is the helmet head one...

This promix is EC 0.4, so there should be some juice for the seedlings keep going
I´ve too have mixed around 30gr of Mykos on each 3gal pot
and I´ve been advised several times not to fertigate them until 10-14 days...

Maybe I should have gone some cocomix since the beggining... and started fertigation day 1 at 250-300ppm.

I still have 3 seeds left Gorilla Cookies, so I´m ready for a round 3 if I must.
Just wanna have some buds curing for Christmas sake. :backside:

Hi friends,

Day5 update, not much going on;
Watered 300ml pH 6 each 3gal pot;

Banana Purple Punch is looking healthy;
Strawberry Gorilla 1, still has only a set of big cotyledons, aldo I can see something growing very tiny in the middle;
Strawberry Gorilla 2, very very tiny sprout, beeing patient on this one too.

Please share your thoughts.

Hi friends,

Day9 for round2, I think things are not looking that great:
Been watering pH 6.2 around 500ml every other day; my tap water is ppm 75;
Yesterday I added Green House Feeding Enhancer (Humid acids and Seaweed Extract) at 120ppm on the watering;
I would like to remember this is a peat+perlite mix at EC 0.4 soiless;
Been thinking back and forth if I should have presoaked the pots prior planting, so 2 days ago I´ve increased a little on watering to moist the peat all around.

- Banana Purple is the tallest one, been developing yellow new growth and the leaves are very thin to the touch;
- Strawberry Gorilla 1 is still very tiny, but with a good green color;
- Strawberry Gorilla 2 is just hopeless, it´s mutating to something and I think I can even see a pistil.

At this point back at round1(RIP), I had already began fertigation, but then I´ve nuked 3 babies.
I´m itching to begin fertigation at 250-350ppm. Maybe I should?

I´ve already soaked another 3 seeds (Gorilla Cookies), and this time presoaked 3 pots in advance; So round3 is ready to go.
I´ll select the 3 survivors to continue for flowering season, I hope.

Any help will be apreciated. Feeling very frustrated about not getting past seedling stage with some vigorous growth.

Ok I´ve fertigated them 250ppm with Green House Feeding Mineral Powder: Calcium and Grow @ 250ppm. I can see they´re a little happier just after 4 hours later. I too upped the 240w light to 25" and 40% power @ 12000 lux. Maybe they were not getting enough light at 20" and 20% power @ 8000 lux.

Sorry but I´ve just have gone with my gut since I´ve so few information about soiless promix (peat+perlite), I´m leaning torwards hydro style and try to treat like coco. I´ve read that Dr. Coco @ Coco for Cannabis.com fertigate the seedlings just after 24 hours of the cotyledons are open.

The 3 gorilla cookies seeds still havent sprouted. They should emerge in next couple of days.

It´s been over a month and 9 seeds started. Clearly I have a problem with the seedling stage. My past grow (2020) I cant remember being this difficult with the same soilless promix. I was on AN nutes by that time, and I remember feeding early on.

I think there´s a lot of confusion about fertigation and methods of growin Soil as in Organic, Soiless as in Coco, Peat and DWC.
One may advice not to overwater a soil grow, but how hard can it be to overwater a soiless coco or peat mix?
One may advice not to feed your babies until 2 weeks, others may say to feed at 250ppm from day 2.
If you got some nutrients on your soil, that may be a good advice, but soilless I see is more of hydro than dirt.

They look good. Let em be. Peat is gonna hold a lot more water then coco, so if the pots are fully saturated, leave them alone for a week :d5:

Hi JP,

Thankyou for your input!

That´s the thing, I´ve transfered from the solo cups to a dry medium.
1st week only ph6 water 300ml every other day;
Yesterday watered ph6 1liter each; They´ve responded;
Today I´ve fertigated 250ppm 1liter each; They´ve responded again;

Besides the schedule I´ve yet not seen any runoff from the 16liter pots.
Hopefully tomorrow another fertigation 250ppm 500ml to 1liter each, if I see any runoff, then I´ll stop watering for a couple of days.
