Grow Room What LEDs are you using?

Every once in a awhile GLH sells some overstock on ebay. I got my 290w there for around $230 which is regularly like$700. I also got a used blackstar 240w for $180 and got my hydroponics hut 180w for about the same which is about equal to the blackstar. I did pay like $400 for my Hydroponics Hut 260W that I use in my grow box but thats the only one I paid retail for but I do really like it alot. Here is a pic of the 290, 240, 180 and a 150HPS in a 4x4 tent from a few weeks back that can show you decent light penetration. I do think I could use another light on the back row and the edges are quite covered as much as I would like.

I remember when they said LED's could grow plants or make decent buds lol For me living in the city it sure does help with the paranoia factor when the helicopters and flying overheard and not having to replace HPS bulbs every 6 months does save quite a bit of money as well.

I started growing 8 months ago and chose the LED route, my first 2 lights for my 6' x 2' grow room were Grownorthern (uk company) 5w Series they have 24x5w chips and draw about 100w depending on ambient temp and cost £300 each,the reason I chose these lights was because no other light was running 5w chips at the time. My third light lol was again from Grownorthern but this time there new Modular series.it has 4 modules each with 15x3w chips and draws 120w,cost was £240. My average yeald is 250g ish but I'm getting better lol. I decided to add a 4th light just last week and did think about adding a Blackstar but after chatting to Dan the LED oracle at Grownorthern for about an hour about everything LED and getting £40 discount and having tried and tested one I got another Modular. Now I'm rockin 4 lights and well over 400w I hope I can get good enough to achieve a gram per watt.
