Jean-O's Show Grows 2024 Welcome to the Thunderdome Jean-O's Genetics Battle Royal

I'm OK with @Suki joining the comp. In the end it's your best finished plant photo. Doesn't have to be the final harvest but ideally it would be close.

Nice line up. You will def have a full tent.

Week 2

Week 2 update
@Jean-O
My Blueberry Cheezecake is coming along nicely !!
It’s day #15 if my hillbilly math is correct
She’s been transplanted into a GroBucket system since the evening of the 22nd. Happy Frog and Organic Pro-mix in a 1:1 ratio.
Here’s some photos of that process and the BBC as well as some other JeanO’s I have in the tent now
Sifting out the soil mixture.

I really like the feel of this sifted soil.

Un-Sifted soil about 2/3rds up

Sifted soil to finish it off.

Didn’t have a solo cup to make the insert hole so used a ceramic pot in the greenhouse then moved it inside the tent to climatize around 12 hours

The little albino-ish Hellhound didn’t make it and laid over on the 23rd. I had put it in a 3gal fabric pot early to try and not disturb any roots but it slowly just faded away.
Here’s a Hellhound XXL I started to make sure I could get one viable plant of this strain. Tonight- Day 1

RBF is a beauty also. Tonight -Day 15
52CB2968-FFCF-4994-B072-0A2901B08A97.jpeg

This WTF went in a little earlier than normal for me, which was on day 4 and there were no roots visible but since I was already in the mood I just dropped it also.
Here it is tonight on day 6
7002A9F6-C68C-4629-97B3-701B7A8375E6.jpeg

All were offset in the bucket to hopefully be able to spread some out with some LST and make it easier to get to the watering pipe.
I’ll move the new Hellhound XXL to a GroBucket on day 12.
I’m trying to come up with a cover of sorts for the buckets, kind of like the Earth Box covers. Been trying to come up with something like those that have elastic but I’ll probably just use some panda film and a Rubber band to hold it down. Torn between that and just planting cover crop and adding sanitized straw as a mulch.
Decisions, decisions !!!

Catch y’all next week
Just realized I didn’t add….

Let’s get it on Suki !!! LOL not a problem from my point of view !!

What's the diameter of the pots? Wonder if something like a plastic shower cap would work?

11 7/8” , I’ve been watching numerous videos on how to build your own earth boxes (SIP) and these GroBuckets appear to be just another version of that. Was curious how they’d do if I treated them like the earth boxes with the cover and slow release fertilizer “trench” at the top. I’ve been kicking it around some lol.

I think dollar tree sells opaque shower caps that may fit that. I'll have to see if there's still one under my kids sink. If so I'll get a measurement for ya!

I'm Looking forward to seeing how the WMD does in the earth boxes. They look very happy.
Definitely happy in the Earthbox! Two days ago did the first top dress and put the covers on, and have a mycelium explosion. Rootwise apparently works very well!
