everybody's bringing out new generations. citizen was first, with the 0x8 series, and the new veros should be shipping in the next few months or so. cree is currently behind, and at least for the minute they're getting creamed by other companies at the same price points.

ya know, I just noticed a couple burnt out leds on my old, Mars old style 300watt light and I have some extra CXA 2530 as I'm changing my DIY light to citizen 1812 chips. Thinking to put 4-5 2530 in it.

@Waximus here's a link to my recent mars to cob diy

The mars heatsinks will work fine with the active cooling (fans in the case) you need to run the more efficient pin style passive heat sinks if you create your own with no fans

They're dropping prices because Citizen and Bridgelux have new chips and better prices. The citizen 1812 fairly matches the CXB3590 and cost 1/2 as much. I just paid $18 each for them. I'll see if I can get some performance data to post

Yes I heard Cree has a big chip coming, like a 200 watt!

I really think Cree is gonna drop a new cob soon. 3590's keep coming down in price. They have the resources to produce a light us growers can use that will beat the 62% efficiency mark.
