my goal with starting this thread was to get people to think. it seems to have worked. we all want to know our place in the universe. after all we are all made up of star stuff.
and we all will be again.

The star of TV’s Wonders of the Universe believes eventually every civilisation kills themselves off, which is why no beings are yet to make a dominant impact on the universe.

Professor Cox was basing his argument around the Fermi Paradox which questions why humans are yet to make contact with aliens.

In 1950, physicist Enrico Fermi – the creator of the world’s first nuclear reactor – came up with a paradox which says due to the age and size of the universe there is bound to be a civilisation much more advanced than ours, but why haven’t they contacted us?

The solution, many scientists argue, is once a civilisation reaches a certain size, it eventually kills itself off, either through war with advanced weapons or natural disaster.

weather it's manmade or natural disaster. does not matter. at this stage humanity is rushing towards manmade extinction. and if this is the way we go, we will go with a whimper, not a bang. BUT one single comet or asteroid can change this in an instant. you know what would piss me off? if I died and a week later an asteroid hit earth and wiped it out.
I would want to see that event.

Read zechariah stitchens 12th planet. Or erich von daniken's chariots of the gods. Both great books The 12th planet has alot of great theorys and cool facts that alot of people dont know. Like the missing link in human evolution and how it's not possible for us to evolve so much in such a small window of time. Some people just dont want to know these things bc it challenges everything they think they know. personally i love learning new things and challenging what i think i know and everyone on this post most likely feels the same way i do.We are far and few in between i rarely find anyone in person who shares these views.

I have to admit Orrganic, I was under the impression you were trolling as well, but after a couple of posts I realized you were participating in the conversation. just not as tactful as some. don't put anyone down for their opinion or beliefs. NONE of us know the real story. and probably never will.
