are we really trying to spread our system to other countries or just trying to gain control of their resources and wealth.would we care about Iraq it the did not have oil. or afganistan if a major U.S company did not have an oil line running across that country or they did not have rare earth minerals in their western mountains.aren't we really just sacrificing poor young people and working peoples money to create more "banana repuplics" I am more afraid of the local "gang bangers" than some camel jockey half a world away. or am I just paranoid and unpatriotic

the draft ended 6 month after I turned 18. my older brother was not so lucky.he survived the war but died young from problems associated with agent orange. 40 years later and I still don't know why we were there. what was the threat to this country from a 3rd world nation?do we really consider it acceptable to sacrifice the lives of our young people in order to make corporations and their share holders richer.I though a society was a collection of sovereign individuals that came together to advance the interest of all its members. maybe I just took Locke, Rousseau and jefferson a little too seriously but as far as I know I am a free man.no one owns me except my creator. Well said feenix, no side here. Just the side of truth, or if truth is not known, the side that makes the most sense. For me, politics should be gotten rid of forever. No man who goes to school(brainwashing, compartmentalizing) for law or businuess should be telling me what to do with my money. In fact money needs to go as well. Wouldnt it be a wonderful world if everyone would work together, and as a whole we all survived peacefully. No possessions being more important than the others. Just simple living together happily in the creation of god. Oh to dream...

Anyways, like you I find serenity here on the AFN. Its nice for everyone to come together for a simple purpose of growing a plant that makes us all happy.

Speaking of real conspiracies, A couple years ago we in the U.S. went into the grocery stores and with no publicity, all the big conglomerate supplied product packaging had shrunk to smaller portions across the board. Prices were not cut accordingly but went steadily up. Its unlikely that they all had the same idea at once and they used to call that illegal price fixing.

Will someone in Europe tell me if the same happened over there?
