Waira gets photo' KIS'ed

Your plants look really good! Nice job man, awesome work! Can't wait to see how they finish.
:passit: Tad buddy, how's it going? ...great Podcast that last one with Dr. Hayes, I need to pow-wow with you both on prep'ing for the botrytis wars to come,... I also wanted to see if he can offer insights to that product RotBlock and it's fungal agent Clonostachys Rosea.... I need a weapon badly! Actinovate and Armory have been of dubious effect and help IMO,...

:zen:work...? what work? :rofl: I almost feel guilty of being a lay-about, it's been so simple! A dash of inoculant, Si here and there, some nice fulvic + kelp foliars,... and watering, that's it- :woohoo1:

I to struggle with botrytis in a high humidity/ heavy dew swamp area so it's much moister than other areas it's like a micro climate. Wish I saw this journal earlier the ladies are beautiful and very interested in a few of these strain so I will be paying attention for sure. Also thanks for all the knowledge you share with our community it's awsome and much appreciated sending good vibes and karma ur way.

Botrytis and PM are tough ones. I think genetics is a huge factor. That being said, some of these microbial products might offer a solution but I haven't had a chance to do any personal research on it myself. The Botrystop looks intriguing but one person told me they only sell it in pretty large amounts, which would be tough for home growers. I haven't heard of that other product.

You didn't miss a thing really, pics tell the tale best! And prime time is yet to come- :hump:
Botrytis is a real SOB, don't we know it,...:cuss:... Like KIS Tad here mentioned, the cultivar's inherent resistance is a big deal, you gotta do your homework on choices for sure! Looks for those that do well in northern climes, fast bloomers too... Watch for La Buena Hierba next season, he's a superb breeder and is finally coming out with fem's! Guerilla Gold is one you should try,.. look him up online, he has his own site...
RotBlock was "tested" here, but personally I don't think any one of them really put it to the test,... I was supposed to, but they ghosted on us, and have since ignored emails (not PM's) from a few of us too :nono:... screw'm, there's others in the game! Too bad though, the product looks pretty solid "on paper",... read up on it at their section here, Intro thread....(Nutrient & Additive section)

:pighug: Tad my man, I need to thank you again, coz that Podcast lead me to Dr. Hayes, who got right back to me in email with Jeremy... I explained my situation, wrung my hands a little, and got cleared for a small sample to test out! :woohoo::thanks: .... yeah, 6lb's is just a bit overkill, and $$$ :rofl:
I did mention there is significant home grower interest/demand for such a product(s), and very few choices, and IMO 0/2 on Actinovate and Armory... RotBlock is an unknown, as mentioned above, they tested here but I don't think it was truly tasked... So, I suggested they think about making smaller amounts available to folks, via other fine vendors like you -:eyebrows: I mean, how perfect would many of their products be for your site in conjunction with all the other goodness there! Jeremy said he'd bring it up, so I hope I have started to shake that fruit loose for you, and everybody else...
Sooo, we shall see about BotryStop... I know it's no panacea, and while I do try to get info from breeders and growers about mold resistance (I pursue this pretty aggressively actually:rofl:) in my cultivar choices, it's not always available, or they are wishy-washy about it....:yellowcard:.... this year there are definite dice-rollers!

~~~{{{ Update week 7+ }}}~~~
:smokeout:Cruising on easy street here,...:zen:.... did some more LST and wedging, then took pics so if they look funny, that's why....:biggrin:
All showed sex last week, younger Strawberry Amnesia this week,... she got smacked down to 45 degree angle by a wind gust, so I had to do some "corrective LST" to get her back in shape. The wind this year has been oddly long and strong!
I'm enjoying the wide variety of structures showing up this year,... funny how the Sweets ended up polar opposites in this regard, what a Mutt & Jeff show :rofl:
MV and F99 x BLR are actually pretty similar, Pineapple is just plain atypical, really digging this girl! Her sister at a friends place is totally different in all regards, his looks more like a more stretched version of MC or FB = :shrug: What will really be interesting is the bloom/bud diff's!
Thanks for the mention, yeah I wish they had smaller sizes and I would love to distribute for them. Wish it was an option, they're a great company and I fully support them nonetheless.
For me, I look at my local weather. If I know every year it goes to crap (heavy rains, higher humidity, colder nights) around the same time of year, I look to light dep or for cultivars that finish earlier. I also want ones that have smaller buds vs those big chunky colas (think "cookies"). This is one big advantage of autoflowers, in that you know you can finish before the weather changes. Lastly, like you mentioned some cultivars have inherently better resistance. I don't trust breeders 100% I think you have to test it out yourself in your conditions.
If you get to where you have to apply a product to the botrytis, you've already lost half the battle. At the very least, it's a losing battle because the spores are present and in the air, and spore pressure is probably increasing as you get closer to the end of the year.
If you do see botrytis, then you have to check your plant daily or multiple times a day, cut out the infected buds, and be ready to make a decision to take the plant down right away even if it's not fully finished. Botrytis can spread in a matter of hours if untreated and will ruin a grow pretty quickly.
And I don't have any science to back this next statement, but I would consider washing the buds if I knew I had botrytis or PM in my grow. Just to be sure to kill any mold that might not be visible on the leaf tissue. I know that's a bit controversial, just my opinion. I'd love to see some research on this down the road.
Yup, another reason I grow smaller scale plants!
I hosed the plants from late veg' on with those other products, knowing the spores are ubiquitous and already ninja'ed on their,...then they get literally grown over/in, and that's the Doom right there! isolated, unreachable, a ticking time bomb,.... I will be sure to keep on the new growth/buds with BotryStop :amazon:
Dude, I've become a damn surgeon with this crap- :rofl::face:.... I call it plant gangrene for good reason! In the past, after I cut away the infection, I treated with Optic Foliar ATAK and Transport (a carrier product, penetrates the cuticle layer hauling what dissolved in it along for the ride)... It kicks it's ass! As for the immediate site, that ends up trashed anyway, the goal is to quash it best I can on that site,.. the bitch is, it can travel along the vascular system and pop up anywhere! :wall: ... a couple times now, snails rasped the main stem tissue up, then the Bot's got in there and damn near girdled the whole plant! For that I use powdered S, made into a "paint" and brushed on generously to foul the stem to them, and stop the Bot's from spreading (much),...
:thumbsup: on bud washing... it's a PITA, but worth it!
Only problem with going with wat the breeder said isn't a good idea especially bc if u think about it how many of those plants were grown ever for example ghost train haze from rare dankness after years of growing it he found a new pheno that was 6%cbd which wasn't bread for that and who knows how often things like that happen within a genetic. Also I've noticed lots of pheno variations which I think plays a huge role in pest,mold tolerance and with the technology we have I think it should be easy to get genetics that have 2 phenos but that's not wat I've been seeing from supposedly great breeders not that there isn't good breeders out but there aren't as many as people think not that the other breeders don't have good quality genetics bc they do just not as repeatable and outdoors I really think it helps having strains that u can predict bc there are enuff problems growing outdoors in crappie climates. Anyways did you happen to mention the breeder of the mimosa? I've had mimosa a few times nice tasting and uplifting smoke, They look super healthy and happy sending good vibes and karma ur way.
Awesome group @Waira ! Looks like zero issues thus far. Does RM really smell/taste of Mandarine? It’s a friends favorite taste/smell for weed and I would consider growing it for her. Seems it is hit or miss with many of the orange strains.
