Chances are they would have drained the condense when they were checking it. The gurgling may have been where the condense trap was empty. It'll condense a fair bit when working hard on a cold start (technically known as the 'banging it's arse out' stage). They may have inadvertently cleared the blockage when checking it or the ph darn has sorted it. It takes a while before it fills with enough condensate to get into the bottom of the flue and start making those noises.

I've only seen this once, the boiler will be spewing all sorts of shit when it happens but, it all goes outside. Good boilers. German design, made by northerners. That's like a 50/50 sativa/indica strain. Over engineering at its best. Makes me sick.

Apparently the lad (he was about 20) took it to bits and drained something, I'm just going on what the missus said tho so no terminology available.. The engineer said it'll probably run for a while until the "thingy" fills up again unless the white pipe gets unblocked! [emoji2][emoji1360]
