Hey everyone, this is my first post about my very first plant I've ever grown. Everything has gone flawlessly (knock on wood), except for a few noob hichups, and I'm left with a couple questions.
First off, this is an Amnesia XXL FEM/AUTO from Seedsman. She's 10 weeks old, standing 48 inches tall to the soil, growing under 600W hps in Ocean Forest soil with
trio for nutes, following the chart almost exactly. Since then I've switched soil for my other girls, but that's what this one is in. Buds are getting fatter by the day, tric's are starting to get milky, and she's much bigger than I thought she would get. I'm highly impressed with her, considering its my VERY FIRST, and she grew under a few CFL for the first 6 weeks with inadequate ventilation, and no PH testing or adjustments. I've since made these upgrades to my operation, but was flying blind early on lol.
First question: One of the pictures here show what I figure to be nutrient burn. Only on the lower leaves, yellow and brown edges. Is this nute burn? Or simply the plant getting ready to harvest? I was expecting to harvest in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Next question: since realizing the error of my ways, I've started ph testing my water. They now get 6.5 - 6.9 ph every time, but my runoff is as low as 5. And I'm getting this even from my newer plants (perpetual grow). I figure I need to make some adjustment to the soil itself to correct this, but what can I do for my existing pants? Should I be concerned about the runoff ph? The plant seems otherwise healthy, except for my lower leaf issue. Will a good flush be enough to correct it, or should i add something? Or should I leave it alone? This late in its life I've stopped feeding nutrients anyway.
Last question: I know the rule for autos is to NOT trim. But I can't help but wonder if trimming some newer growth and tiny bud sites in the lower branches my help the plant focus energy to the higher buds with the better light. Also, the lower leaves that look burned and dying leaves in general, should they be cut off, or left alone to fall off? I don't want to shock the plant this late in the game, but it seems like wasted energy to hold onto burnt leaves. I'm no scientist and still new here.
Thanks everyone for listening to me ramble on, any help or advise is appreciated.
