New Grower Using low level led lights

There is a thread about screw in LEDs somewhere in the DIY section that might be interesting for you. I use about 140 watts of screw in 3000k and 2700k bulbs to fill in the sides on either side of my HLG quantum board light
Its fun to experiment with different lighting isnt it ! So many results you can get its all fun

Yeah those are nice, comes as both E27 and E40 sockets. Either that or T5\T8 led tubes are what I am considering for my rubbermaid.

I got them at wal mart they are a 24 inch led plant grow light box says 1300 lumens i think 15 or 13 watt 75 watt equivalent im using 13 of them in a 2x3x4 grow space

How much u got into yours? I cant tell where ur comming from with that. If this is friendly i have about 190 into everything seeds n all enough for 2 grows of 6 i feel its pretry cheap. However im not looking to argue or have trash talked so if its that way no need reply ive already had enough of that on afn.

See the link in my sig block, something like half that to do one plant all in including electricity, compost, etc. Light cost something like €35 all in and the rest is just generic stuff. To "expand" things, I would need to spend €10 on more led strip and modify the first panel I made, as obviously I have the power supply and everything.

Not knocking you or trying to start an argument, I love other people doing things on the cheap too, proving to people thinking about growing that you don't need to spend a fortune on equipment, but I find these premade lights like you use are WAY too expensive over here.

Glad to hear. The lights i have were like 11 $ appeace x 13 of them. Electric bill went up from previous months like 20 $ a month. Im hoping to get 4 ounces out of 1st grow for around 250$ which is definitely cheaper than buying it. Ill check out some of ur grows i love getting new ideas to try .

Here is a look at one of my screw in LED fixtures. This one has 6 bulbs at 8-12 watts each, so about 60 watts of 2700k and 3000k. The 3000k bulbs are 9 watts and cost $1 each at Dollar tree. The fixture was about $10, the 2700k about $4. With extension cord, socket, screws, etc it less than 0.50 per watt. It's not nearly as efficient as my HLG, but it certainly makes my plants happier.

Both of the above highlight something, the fact that you guys can get affordable led's off the shelf in various stores. You go into a DIY store here and you'll pay the best part of $20 for a 100w equivalent led replacement bulb and these "grow lights" are only available in "specialist" stores and the price matches that, hitting at least double the cost paid in Walmart. It's why I source things direct from China, the "local" prices here in Benelux are so ball-crushingly high it would end up being as cheap buying genuine QB's and so on.

It's not just Belgium, and nobody can explain why what is essentially the same thing costs so much more over on this side of the pond than in the USA, and as soon as you go over 9w the price rockets to the point I can buy 4 14-15w led replacements direct from China for the price of one such lamp in my local DIY stores, and that's before we think of how limited the choice is when you want something other than 6500K.

And then they wonder why AliBaba Group is getting so many orders for things they can justify opening up an EU warehouse in, once the willy waving between Belgium and Holland is over to decide "where", Benelux...

That is crazy. My hats off to your creativeness. That definitely opened my eyes a little as to how ill b looking at wal mart.

I know, even the cheapest multipack of 9w replacements come in at $14 for 4, so you can see how much of a difference we're talking about when talking about 1 buck bulbs from Dollar Tree. If I want to buy the same LED strip as I use now from someone in Belgium, then the price at least quadruples when compared to buying direct from China.

It's insanity, and can't all be down to profiteering.
