hey everyone! took a long break but now im back.

Been out of the game for so long I dont know what LED's are good now. I remember when blackstars were the "IN" thing. then some bulldog light..... but now, 2016, is there a good company that has good prices that have decent grow LED's?
what lights do you have? how much were they each?

[edit] i just checked mars led's, and also boss led's.. wouldnt the boss goldenring 800w (even the boss diamond 900w) be better then the mars 400 for about the same price?

Well it's a little subjective with LED's it seems. You will see good grows with crappy lights and crappy grows with the best LED fixtures money can buy! The new "big deal" is quickly becoming DIY COB LED fixtures. Mainly using Cree cxb3590 COBs. For what it's worth here is my last Bomb Seeds Cherry Bomb(auto) grown in a 3.5gallon bubble bucket DWC under a $70 MarsHydro 300w(180real watt) yield was 7.95oz dry!

How big of a grow space are you trying to cover?

I was thinking of running 1 to 3 autos in a closet grow space. the corner of the closet i was thinking of using was about 3ft, the length is around 6ft to 6.5ft.
i was thinking of running one on each side of the closet with another in the middle, or 1 giant one in the middle of the closet.

how many plants would that mars hydro light be able to run?

COB is the way to go right now, 3000 to 4000k cant go wrong with cree, but there are some other decent less expensive options. If you get a high eff cob light, 20w/sqare foot is very growable.

I use the Fluence SpydrX Plus. It was formerly BML and is literally imo... the shiz. However there are literally hundreds of growers more knowledgeable than I. I am not much of a DIY-er when it comes to electronics. A 3 year warranty and all the testing done on the last model the " Spydr 1200" is enough for me. At $1,500 for a 640w off the wall light with an average up to 909 micromoles-per-meter-square-per-second (µmol/m2/s) over a 4-by-4-foot canopy is HUGE to me.

That thing is $1500? It emits less uuuuuumols than a 600w Hortilux eye.

720 umols here for less than half the price and almost half the watts. These are designed for a 3x3.

At OP, a high end led fixture will likely use efficient white light cob chips. Mainly because they hit 50%+ efficiency. Mars is more like 30%, and higher end mono like a grownorthern is maybe 40%.

If you're sticking to a low budget, grab those $65-70 Mars 300 lights off eBay(140w actual) and stick one over each plant and aim for about a 1.5'x1.5' coverage for each.

PPFD: (μmol/m2/s): 909 avg | 1022 max | 664 min However Here's where i put most of my stock. An actual study from their old model. I'm taking a risk on the new one I know but if we dont support innovation then innovation will not happen. I like you'r passion Atulip but you're coming off as a bit of a jerk. I'm excited. Please stop being a downer. Yes I invested in it and yes it's a risk and yes I think it will do better than my hps 1000w. I can tell you 100% that it is thus far. I've been growing red poison 10 at a time for 2 years straight and have NEVER seen therm look this good at this stage. I turned that light on and there is a noticeable improvement. I'll hold out until the end but I find optimism is a good thing so please, until you have this light and test it... watch for my results as I am the only one of the two of us that can tell.

I'm just not a fan of people advertising their overpriced 35% mono led panel. It's not much more efficient than the far cheaper Chinese panels all over the market.

I understand some people get ripped off and mis led by shady business practices, but let's not try to get everyone jumping off the same cliff. $1500 can be spent on much better lights. I'm not being a downer, I'm just not trying to sell people a burger at steak prices.

I left out that this model has zero moving parts. No fans to burn out or break.
