28 July 2018 - planted 4 critical xxl and 3 Amnesia autos at my first outdoor guerrilla site, feeling excited!
Would've liked to get them in the ground sooner, but we've had NO rain for a month, till a couple of days ago. They'll hopefully be ready the second or third week of October, so fingers crossed for minimum mold and an Indian summer here in the south east.
The scrubland soil is very sandy clay about 6-8inches deep, with stony clay below - not ideal, but we'll see how things go. Next year, with a bit of planning, I'll scrape a load of leaf litter/mould from the neighbouring woodland to the planting site.
Oh, and I hope the blackthorn, Rose and hawthorn barriers I've cut and laid around each plant will keep the rabbits of the seedlings, and that the deer just won't eat them all!
Wish me luck,

Non stop warm and rainy since I put the seeds in the ground! Now I'm hoping they'll love it and germinate fast, but worried about damping off and losing them all...

I really want to go check on these babies, but trying to visit the site as little as possible! Weather has been a crap since they went in the ground, mostly overcast/rain/low 20*C temps in the day, low teens at night...

A sad day today.... I went and checked, and no signs of life :(
No idea if it was rabbits, deer, damping off, slugs, snails and puppy dogs tails or just non germination.
Lesson learned, prep the soil and use better animal protection!

Outdoors is really tough on seeds popping. In nature it takes thousands of seeds to get some plants growing. If want success try to start them indoors for 2-3 weeks then put them out.

Yeah, that's the plan for next year, think I'll give a couple of photos a go too...
