New Grower TxRebel 1st grow Gelato from Fastbuds

Does EM1 stuff work similar to recharge or better/totally diff? Had Bigfoot/ now recharge but can expand the list if has diff use??

Also would I be correct in assuming if said plant is a heavier feeder on a particular nute more than others I just add lil extra of whichever ingredient is heaviest on that element or if all around eats like a cow just fill lil more of the soil into bottom of pot before seedling mix goes in?? Been reading lots but every site has 20 diff answers for same question so driving me bonkers!

Great question - short answer NO .....

The add water bagged soil such as buildasoil3.0 and KIS both are made with photo periods in mind so they should carry thru an auto cycle with ease - top dressing with Oly Mountain Fish Compost will take care of any extra nutrients..... Grow that style first - next grow maybe add in some nutrients like a few spoonfuls of Craft Blend from Buildasoil or some crushed oyster shells you picked that bag at the feed store for $7 - go ahead add a few tablespoon full if you think soil will have calcium issues go ahead add some but first LOS start basic, it works, don’t overthink brother, less is really more.

i have no Flippin idea about recharge and don’t even consider .... I would lean on another AFN Member to answer that but I do know ....

EM1 and Mammoth P both are what I want for the micro bio activity - My plants are growing in a closed anaerobic system and oxygen to the roots is made by micro bio activity breaking down matter creating oxygen and EM1 and Mammoth P both do that for my grow style.

I can def handle that! That was what I was looking into getting 1st to sounds good! I made the mistake of not listening when dude at hydro shop said his soil was alive and to just water so even with nectar being gentle still wound up with all kinds of N burns and stuff cuz says soil ppm needs to stay 3-500ppm and soil being alive it kept it buffered so it never built up to that level til maybe 2 weeks ago! Ignored it on lil ones going into flower and never hit the ppm but no burns or def but gets old mixing 6 nutes every 2 days and having to slurry soil often! It’s made me see the full organic light! :headbang:

Wow say do what when how much and what if ..... :woohoo:NO NO NO ..... Less is More and Don’t overthink - let the plant do that - provide her a good environment and good living soil - amend soil with compost and water.

Thanks again amigo! Figured while staying small scale now be more practical and as I gather the stuff to amend that soil I’ll wind up with the necessary ingredients and knowledge for when I need to start a fresh batch! I appreciate the help and glad I stuck to this site and 1 or 2 people versed in what I wanna learn since every site has tons of diff answers all for the same question so can be maddening! :pass:

Here ya go mate . Soil that is living at the moment , it will be around 6 months old by time I use it [ 100 liters ] also remember you cam reuse the soil from a last grow , I do , just mix it in with a new soil base . and add what you want then let it cook a while , now less than a month so every thing gets to sort its self out and gain balance . I use the native worms from the soil around me and you will know it they are happy because they will start breeding , I know what they feed on so I just gather some from the yard and place in the bin , I do not use kitchen scraps , I use things like rain forest litter , old dry wood , and what ever I can find that they eat , I can't prove it but I believe this way I get a all round nutrient input and microbe feed as well .

I’m thinking worm bins I will need to put in extra office I use for drying buds since temperature can be regulated to what they’ll find most comfortable and I believe it was $75 for 250 red worms at local dro shop but online from breeder only $36 a pound so need to study what they’ll eat! My leftover from last soul I fed some water with recharge for extra microbes and I know it has fungus life n stuff cuz have mushrooms sprout in lil ones pots at times! Gonna add lil bit of appropriate nectar product to give lil microbe food today so I can let it sit another couple weeks and use in FastBuds solo cup grow! Is build a soil craft blend basically all the dry stuff you’d normally add into soil at the beginning but just mixed together to amend soil later when needed? Really trying to learn this well so I can say bye-bye to bottled nutes and can just feed the soil as needed instead! Thanks again for taking the time to help buddy!

Also just wondering if I need to buy an actual vermicomposting bin for the lil guys or is a dark Tupperware container good enough for them?? One website that sells worms for starting it has a starter kit but just worms, food for them, 3 burlap sacks and then a plain old clear plastic Tupperware box! My soils in a large black Tupperware box and have like 3 of them and for 1000 red worms only $25 for the worms alone! Is that all I need and then dump em in my soil bin with some food for them and wait? Just wanna get started in the right direction here! Thanks @hecno & also @MrOldBoy
Just started growing in Sept but already ready to leave bottled nutes behind! My only worry here may be horrible Texas heat cuz same site selling em said best temp for them is 60-65F I believe! Maybe said 65-70 but that’s rare in Tx!
:thanks:

Worms will like temps inside your house - raising worms is a whole subject by itself ...... The worm bin I use is this one

Steve the owner of the company has a great newsletter and there is lots of info on the web about raising worms ..... No worries about heat this time of year, worms will be fine - you want red wrigglers and just get the bed run, no need for any bredder worms - for food again search web but a lot of food you’ll find at the fed store as well as aged manure- with any kitchen scraps - get a guide on what to feed as things like orange peels are not good, bananas are great so check the web for 8nfombut your vegetable scraps freeze before feeding and wash and crush egg shells, remove the membrane best you can first .....

In lieu of the bin, check YouTube you’ll find lots of info on bins and worms ....

Good luck!
