Germination
  • AAAAAANNNNDD!!!!!

@Twenty20 Adam - Thank you so very much. Everything arrived intact, and this mug is, well, nice!

    We have started:

    Hotz LEFT : MSG RIGHT

    P1040210.JPG

    I feel like I've done a Left/Right Twenty20 before.... hmmm.....

Well, if they all pop the plan is:

2 of each strain, 1 in soil, 1 in coco, all four in 1.5G airpots.

    EDIT: clarification of soil/coco split.

EDIT2: An hour later... oh, oh gosh, I've mixed up the left/right... fixed.

  • Mendo Skunky Garlic: Both are above ground and potted up.

Day 1 on the soil plant - Promix presoaked the entire pot with a weak nute solution, some kelp, and BioAg VAM. The tap root was bursting through the side of the jiffy pellet. I usually like to completely remove the netting but I did not want to damage the root. I made several slits around the perimeter and base.

    Day 2 on the coco:

I really keep wanting to call this one Mendo Smokey Garlic, chicken wings on the brain lately.

  • Everything is at about week 4/5 and looking great!

Mendo Skunky Garlic - Promix 1.5g Airpot

Nice big fans all around and the center is just jam packed with smaller stems and leaves.

    P1040370.JPG

    P1040371.JPG

    Hotz: #3 up first. Promix/Airpot

    P1040374.JPG

Same as the MSG - large outer fans and a tightly packed cluster around the main stem

    P1040377.JPG

Hotz #2 - The mutant that started with the coiled root. An absolute monstrous cluster of branches and leaves. Extremely squat and short.

    P1040379.JPG

Tucked a few leaves in for this one. Plant will probably need a defoliation at some point. Added some LST ribbons to try and pull things open a little bit.

    P1040380.JPG

    P1040382.JPG

Hotz: #4 - Coco/Rain science bag. Supposed to be the replacement but 2 survived. Similar to the others with the large long stemmed fan leaves and then tightly clustered inner branches/leaves.

    P1040383.JPG

    P1040384.JPG

Finally starting to see some real growth on all of them. Quite looking forward to the next couple of weeks. I hope they start to stretch upwards a little more as watering is tricky maneuvering around the low hanging stems.

  • Time for an update:

The girls are happy. The Autowrecks are unbelievably bushy. The Knows Candy and MSG are reaching for the sky! The front MSG is showing purple i the buds.

  • Hotz & MSG update: 4 plants, lots of pics. 3 Hotz and 1 MSG. The coco plants.......

Well, the coco plants are absolutely killing it. The promix plants? As good as I usually do in soil! hah! I"m a convert.

    Onto the fun stuff:

    MSG: Promix/Airpot - Day 47

This one has perked up a ton and looks great aside a couple boogered leaves down low. Certainly prefers a lower feed strength, 50% is working well, at least in soil. Loads of budsites. Very pleased so far. Feed, water x4, repeat. Lots of extra water only days. pH from 6.3-6.6 on a gentle swing.

    Hotz: Seed #4 : RainScience/Coco : Day 44

Absolutely massive plant in a 0.8 Gallon bag. Did a second defoliation down low as I was still having trouble being able to water easily. Taking around 2L per day split 1100 am and 900ml pm to maintain decent 20%ish runoff. Tons of roots poking out through the rain science bag. I should have gotten a root penetration pic. Some serous fingers reaching out.

Might be one of the last times out of the tent for pictures. Getting a bit too big to reach in and pull out.

Where do I stick the watering can?

    P1040490.JPG

    Hotz : Seed #2 - The Coil. Coco/Airpot Day 47

Help! It's too big and it's gone too well! Seriously a problem plant due to it's size. I did not expect this. Defoliated a bit around the base as this one is just jam packed with branches and was difficult to water.

Taking 1500ml AM and PM watering sessions with barely 20% runoff. Bump to 4L/~1gal per day soon I suspect. Extremely even all around the periphery with one massive stalk bursting out the middle. Could have easily been topped/trained/spread a bit more.

  • End of week 9: Everyone is between day 58 & 61. Just about the end of week 9 moving in to week 10.

Hotz #3 - Promix: Some crispy leaves but doing well. Main cola will probably be nice and dense

    Flash on:

    P1040575.JPG

Mendo Skunky Garlic: Day 61 - Finally coming around and starting to look nice. This one is also densely stacked. I wish the coco one had lived as this soil one is impressive.

    P1040578.JPG

    The Hotz coco monsters:

Hotz #2 - Absolute beast. Still just chugging away. Hasn't paid a bit of mind to anything I've given it. Just grow grow grow grow. I don't even know how to properly take pics of this any more. Main cola is a thick horsetail already.

    P1040582.JPG

Just beautiful development: Starting to get some frost
    P1040583.JPG

Hotz #4: The 0.8gal RainScience bag. This one was keeping pace with the larger Hotz #2 but has become very unhappy with the flowering transition nutrients. I should have cut them down to only 4 days but followed the guide as it is my first run with them. Still going to be a mad plant by the end considering it's in less than a gallon.

Spotty crispy city! Ugh! Sorry. It didn't hit all the leaves and it's back on the regular routine and seems happier again. Amazing as the monster next to it got the same regimen and nothing similar.

Ok that's it for my 4 T20's this week. Interesting turn with the small bag coco plant getting all spotty and the other three not noticing a bit!

  • Day 67-70: Coco plants still chugging like mad. Soil plants, eh, well, I don't think soil is my thing. But! Lovely plants none the less. Just a quick set of pics, didn't have a chance for a proper session this week.

A few rusty spots here and there. Definitely from the transition period with the nute change. Should have just run straight through. Ah well. Still a mad plant. Very pleased.
    P1040624.JPG

Hotz Day 67 - 0.8G rainscience bag. Overall happy but some damaged leaves from the transition. Still plenty of poofballs all over. Stuck in the back corner for a moment. Bit difficult to photograph, had to reach in and around.
