Tried my best but I think my first grow is doomed :(

I think 79 to 83 is perfect....sounds like you got your set up going good..86 is OK a tad bit high for me, it some rock that high with no problems...try not to go over 88 though:bong:

That sounds like a much better setup. You'll be fine as long as you can stay below the 86 degrees.

Thanks man! I think both plants are dead now but they are in for testing purposes for the new grow room design. It's similar to the above diagram except the carbon filter is now horizontal, at the back and higher than the cooltube (but within same area). The carbon filter is routed to the cooltube, which is routed to the rvk fan, which expels very high up. The ballast was placed outside the room, as far as possible, and it no doubt made the problem really bad. Current temps are 28C / 82.5 F... is that OK? I have set the timings so it turns off during the hottest part of the day, which is common sense. I think I will get as high as 30C / 86 F but only in worst case scenarios...

Got a link to your grow, bro? love to see...

But guess what? I checked the temps and it's 45C (115F) - I guess that is a wee bit too high and was the start of the problems (a heatwave in this country at the moment).... what do you think?

It's hotter than a motherfu#*er up in here!! I need to go to the bar & get me a drink..... Pleeease!!

Hi, Lowcost.:coffe: I also am a novice in this forum and experienced the same issues you did.:cuss: Too much nutes and too high heat. It was a bag seed grow, my first, and I sure am glad I didn't buy any seeds for the first attempt.:D I certainly can't improve on the excellent advice you've gotten here, except to tell you to try, try again. Everyone who grows their own helps to take the profit from the money hungry commercial weed dealers that sell CRAP. I like the idea of determining what I am smoking, not what is in town at the moment. Obviously you are not giving up, you've improved your grow space and I just know the next attempt you undertake will be successful.:D Good Karma to you and hopefully we will see your next try soon!:peace:

Thanks si... will do for the new grow.

Muddy, I took your advice and have a tentative plan for the new layout based on your advice, please let me know what you think as I have not done it yet:

It means I have to stand the carbon filter upright in the corner of the cupboard because its absolutely huge and only has one hole in it for ducting so what do you think? I would be moving the ballast out as well. It makes things a little more cramped though. Please let me know what you think.

Hey Lowcost, I know these are only plans at the mo so I'll throw in my :2cents: if you don't mind... Not much of an alteration really but try & keep as few bends in your exhaust tubing as possible.. Really helps the air move better if it doesn't have to go around bends... Not sure how you can do it but if you can.... Do it.

Good luck friend.

tap water at mine is between 7 and 8 PH. also you MUST let your tap water sit for 12-24 hours before using it so as to allow chlorine to evaporate, sorry for giving noob advice but ive killed my fair share of young girls with my crappy watering practices. so let your tap H2o sit and then (if feed time) add nutes then ph correct to around 6.5 (average) some also let nuted water sit but whatever you do PH PRIOR TO FEED. so yes you've locked out nutes with wrong watering practice I think. not the end of the world just look forwards now. good luck and BUY A PH TEST KIT:wiz:

Forgot

Forgot...

Completely forgot to come back and tell you guys that one of the plants survived and went full term. She is beautiful, 6 small coffee jars of curing heaven and I'm completely stoned as fuck.

Happy ending :D

The high: good-mood almost opium like sativa high, can find yourself laughing at silly internet stuff even if you're a jaded old hippie. She's a sweet buzz like a warm duvet in winter or a really delicious sticky cake with a cup of tea.

What a beauty. Thanks for help everyone.
