Getting ready to do my first run in EarthBoxes and I've never transplanted canna. I've made my cut up square bottom transplant solo cups.

How long before I can transplant and have the plant tolerate the moisture from the EarthBox with it fully set up? I want to know if I can have the EarthBox fully setup when I transplant..................ie wicking, worms, compost mounded up and Bokashi running.

Ya I answered this where u asked in Sour D’s thread! If u already planted in solo cups I’d wait couple weeks so good size and good roots! That way they start spreading out sideways once u move em over!
My photos on transplant day after 33 days of abuse in solo cups!

ALSO DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE AND FORGET TO CUT THE COVER WHERE U ARE GONNA TRANSPLANT ONCE U DO! Trust me it ain’t easy trying to measure where plant is in box and then cutting cover correctly if u forget to do it 1st! I do as 1st step now so don’t forget!

I think 10 days or so should be fine. The way I cut the cups, I should be able to pull the cups apart to check the roots around that time.
I'm getting all the pots ready today and soaking the seeds.
I changed my tent ventilation routing and put the extraction fan in the tent. It will just vent to the room/walk-in closet and opening to the attic is closed off. I wanna see if I can run CO2 at least during veg and early flower. Running CO2 in late flower may be too hard for me to do in my environment, but I'll see when I get to that point.
It should prove interesting at least.

edit...............other stuff made me hold off on dropping the seeds

I usually set my cover in place, make my cuts for plant placement, then stick a toothpick or something in the center so I know where to plant. Measuring is a headache I don't need.

Are we 3 the only ones using Sips on afn?

I've adopted planting in small thin plastic planters, transplanting at 7 or 8 days after sprout and limited filling the rez at 14 days.
This is what I did with the Asian Haze and she didn't skip a beat.
My new grow will have a Meph Freebie in and EarthBox. It should be interesting, since I sorta have the EBs figured out.

I really think I'm done with 'regular' pots for the majority of my growing, with testing being the only time I'll use them. The same goes for transplanting.

I'm gonna buy more EarthBox Jrs. With their wicking spots being in the center, not on the ends like in the Regular, and smaller amount of media, I can turn on the rez at two weeks from sprout and put it on cruise control. With the root development at the two week period, the roots are well enough established, the girl will jump to the two root system and take up all the water she wants without worrying forcing uptake nutes.

I can put 6 in a 4x4 and 3 in the 2x4 tent. They would be full tents at chop, but I think manageable, even with big girls.

Unless I'm intentionally going for big girls, the Regular EarthBoxes with get girls on the ends, where the wicking spots are located. I think two weeks may work also, but it may need another week before turning on the rez. I'll just have to play with the timing.
