I recently started 4 NL autos in solo cups. I know transplanting isn’t the best idea but due to certain circumstances it was easier for me to control the climate in a little propagator than a room without working heat. Anyway 10 days in and my furnace was fixed and I started seeing roots out the bottom of the solo cup so I thought, better transplant before they get rootbound. Well as I went to transplant the roots were not nearly what I thought. One of the root balls almost fell apart completely but I managed to get into the soil before complete disaster. The other three went better but still not great. Wondering how badly these are going to stunt and if it’s even worth growing them out. I have more seed that I can germ.

Nice man thanks. Looks like I could do this with solo cups just on a smaller scale. I figured I’ll know in a week or so just how badly the transplant went

Give them some B1 vitamins, Kelp and fulvic acid. I have always avoided transplanting whenever possible. Sounds like you had no choice. The thing is the method of growing that I am using currently has a transplant step. Really it is more like potting up. I start my seeds in GroDan A-ok 1.5" starter cubes (rock wool) when the roots look like this:

They get pushed gently into the hole in the 6" Hugo grow block. It has been a long time since I grew in soil but this transplant does not seem to slow or stunt the plants.

Your plants should be fine. I have planted 300 tomato plants in one day and you would not believe how poorly they were man-handled. We did give them B1 though.

Any recommendation for a good b1 supplement or should I just pick one and shoot

I have used many brands over the years. I am currently using a dry type from NPK Industries RAW line.
