Most of the year water comes from the river. Summer thru early fall I can pump it with a small shurflo electric pump right into the cabin, yea! Wood fired hot water heater just outside the cabin means I have hot and cold running water for about 3.5 months. During winter I haul buckets up from the river with the snogo, and carry out drain water buckets when drain freezes. Lots of work water hauling. During break-up, ice go, river water is just plain shitty, so I melt snow from the huge drifts until river settles and the chunks are gone. Freeze-up I look for clean open pools in the overflow channel until river ice becomes safe to work on.
I have garden hoses for garden and greenhouse watering.

Boy oh boy. Everything we do in life has a price. I am sure I would soon run out of payments if I had to do that.

Very wintery scenes around your house. I remember when I used to live in the woods. Not as much snow, but haul water. Sometimes we'd melt snow on the stove. Morning we'd wake up to ice in the teakettle kept on the woodstove. I enjoyed that life very much. Oh, well. Too old now.
Your outdoor grow season must be pretty short?

hey Bode, thanks for checking us out. Greenhouse is June 1 till Sept 1, can go a little longer if weather mellow. Plants can go from greenhouse into the wilds July 1, and if we don't get an evil 20f latter part of Aug, can stay out until Sept 1. The growing seaon is short and challenging
