Ok so I have a purple ryder plant at about 4 1/2 weeks looking good at about 1 1/2 weeks into flowering. Now this is my first auto grow so i planned to just let them do their thing and minimize any extra interaction on my part lol but I cant help being tempted with LST to maximize yields. Could i still give it a shot on this plant?? I've also got an eazy ryder plant at jsut under 3 weeks that has began flowering, would this be a better canidate? However I heard easy ryders branch VERY well and have no need for LST.

Input please.

Hi VV

I wouldnt do that, AF plants dont like any kind of stress and even low stress is stress. Thats the first thing. Sercond, I guess you aint got the time you would need to let her grow new branches. If you are in week 3 like you said, then there is just maybe 5 or 6 weeks left untill the plnt is finished.
Also I think you cannot yield more if you tie her down, i think you would yield much less if you start playing around with Autos.
I am not a Pro, for sure not, but i had an AF grow in Winter and i ruined me some plants cause i did not read enough about, i thought, this should be the same as other plants, but it isnt. You will see, time will be running and every mistake you make reduces your yield...

I advice you to talk to the AF Pros.

I had some Dieselryder and they branched well too, i wouldnt play around, realy not, i payed the price for changing Pots to late with 3 of my Automazar and i ruined them. They reached a height under 30 cm (12 inches)and maybe 8-10 g. Yield.

greetings Pat

There are some strains that have reports of taking LSTing well. I can't recall what they are, but I don't recommend it, just let her run her course. And to get the most yield out of the gal, feed her veg nutes until around week 5-6 when she stops or really slows vertical growth, then start with the flowering nutes. This will increase the veg time and size which increases yield. Most autos that say they finish at 8 weeks can go 10-11 if you wanted.

With autos LST is usually done to control height, not increase yields. In my experience I've not seen any measurable increase in yields when the plants have been LSTed. So unless you have height issues, I'd suggest just leaving them be.

Input please.
Personally, I say LST until harvest day if I need to (not profusely). Why? Because as she grows you can move main stems out of the way and get more light to lower or central bud sites, which does increase the yield on those so long as the plant is getting all the nutes it needs. It's all about auxins and with proper redirection I believe we can make the most of plants if we do it right. It's a lot of work and hassle, and for me it's not really about yield and all that, but about the fun of doing it. Each to their own.

:peace:
