Transplanting into TLO

This just seems like common sense, but I would still appreciate some feedback, Please.....

OK, I am ready to transplant my first set of Autos into TLO in a couple of days. The kids are now growing in FFHF inside 18 oz. party cups (very happily I might add).

I will be using the tier method on this first grow, to play it safe.

Anyway, I'm thinking that it would make sense that after transplanting, for a week or more.... that; when I water inside the cup that water should still be PHed to the proper level (with Mycos of course) .:D Outside the cup I know the PH level does not matter. I wouldn't think it would matter after the roots really got down into the TLO, but we all know about assuming anything.
:D

Am I thinking correctly here?

I still pH my water. I've heard lots of growers say they don't... great growers... but, yes, when it comes to the FFHF that's in the cup, I would definitely buffer that for the first couple weeks... JMHO.

Dude why didn't I find this sooner. I've always been interested in organic growing but never knew the basics behind it. Your 3 posts have made things a lot easier for me to understand, and give me the first step I need. Much appreciated brother. Gonna have to slap you some love for this one.

I'm curious to smoke organic bud next to my chemically grown bud. I think my next project will be a simple tlo recipe. :smokebuds:

Make sure you have drainage in the cup you want 10% runoff of or feel the cup see how heavy it is or check if its dry 2in down, and check the ph of the runoff after you water it .and i check mine before also.:peace:

A simple one probably works as well as the ones that have 30 amendments in them. Actually, after seeing the results you pulled with coco, I'm surprised you would be interested in TLO at all... I get decent yields, but nowhere close to what you did with that BHD. I would be VERY interested to hear a side by side comparison of the smoke quality. If you didn't use chem nutes in the coco, I would be surprised if there is much difference.

With all due respect, I never have 10% drainage, and never check the run-off... so far, I haven't done it once because the plants looked great. It is absolutely not necessary with a TLO mix. I buffer the water (if necessary) before watering.

NOTE: I use de-clorinated tap water. It pH's at 8 out of the tap. If the normal pH of my water was around 7, as it is with RO, I might not buffer it at all.

Was just giving some dif methods peeps use for watering some do the 10% some lift and some do the 2inch down ..and others .me i can tell from the smell and humidity in my tent if the ladies are dry and i also lift them:)..I have a question . after i harvest the soil thats left do i need to remove all the roots or can i just put it back in the tote and mix it in for reuse?

TX, thanks for confirming.

I pull the plant and the tap, but the "hair roots" I leave in. I haven't had any problems from doing this and, I'm told, the myco's in the roots from the first grow are beneficial to the new plants. :peace:

Cool ..good thing as i already mixed it in lol..i just removed some of the bigger roots or broke them up.
It probably would have been fine to leave the whole thing. I probably do it because I'm lazy, and the mix breaks back up easier when I pull the tap out. :D
