Grow Mediums Think different scrog, hydroponic wilma system

Wet weight

Cheers Tav, I'll surely not regret it for too as long as it stays the hell away from my beautiful ladies!!

All these buds in the pics below are the healthy buds that were unfortunately surrounding the affected area. This is unfortunate because now these buds are removed and they havent been flushed but i will simply cure for a bit longer. Some buds were too close to the rot and had to be disposed of, but the majority of them survived and needed to chopped in order to stop the rot spreading.

The buds In the green box weigh 26.5g wet. This means these buds will quite possibly dry out to be between 6.6-8.7g. (25%-33% of wet weight)

The bud in the white box is the same bud I am pinching in the pic in my last post. This weighs 25g. I'm gonna subtract 5g from this weight because of the large stem, and I will estimate that there is approximately 20g of wet bud. Don't quote me though, 5g is an educated guess, feel free to make your own. This means i should fetch between 5-6.6g dry. (25%-33% wet weight)

From a medium density arm on one of the smaller plants in the scrog, I'm hoping to dry out at around 12.5-15.5g. I should also mention that some of the buds on this affected arm had been removed to decrease the chance of the rot advancing, so that's some lost weight.

If my predictions are even close to the lower end of the weight scale (25%), then I'm expecting a decent harvest from the scrog, that's of course providing the rot has been fully stopped (which I think it has, but only time will tell).

Seeing as the buds are bigger now its a little bit easier to count the heads and there are around 180-210 bud sites on the 7 plants. Ratios are 50/25/25 large/medium/small (density of buds on arms).

The plant that was affected was one of the two more advanced plants and its now on day 90 along with one other plant. Gonna let the second more advanced unaffected plant run on a bit but the plant that had the rot is def being flushed til Friday and chopped . The others have around 1 1/2-2 Weeks left.

On the brightside I'd say I probably only lost about a gram due to the the rot. Coulda been a lot worse.

If you want to be sure that you dont have any mold spores on your remaining nugs, there is an easy way to tell. All you need is a black light. When you examine your buds close to the light, any afflicted areas will have a distinct bright green color. Save one that you know has the mold/rot to help identify it. Trust me when i tell you that you do not want to smoke any mold.

Thanks for that man. Gonna head into town and grab a black light. Hopefully there's no more spores left.

Cheers again

sorry to hear about the bud rot my friend.

that is no good no matter how you look at it.

on the other hand -- your yield will outshine the damage.

Anno man, I'm absolutely gutted over it. That one dodgy leaf caused all that hassle. We chopped it down today along with the other more advanced plant. Didn't want any of the spores spreading further in the grow room. Checked the scrog there tonight with a blacklight during lights off and there is no sign of spores on nearby plants. I'm glad to announce that every part of the plant apart from the small affected area appears to be fine and is hanging drying in the cupboard. Gonna post some pics of the plant here now mate.

1st Scrogged TD (91 days old)

This is the buds from a TD scrogged plant. This was the plant which had the small piece of bud rot on it but luckily enough it was found soon enough. This plant and the 2nd more advanced plant which was also chopped today were the 2 smallest/lightest plants in terms of bud sites and weight. I have lost around a gram and a half to the rot so hopefully that won't be a significant decrease to the overall yield.... I hope but I'm sure we'll be ok!

2nd Scrogged TD (91 days old)

This is the second of the more advanced plants which we took today. Chopping it meant we'll have varying levels of psychoactive THC in our buds. We're searching for that real head high and also some couchlock so might let a few girls run on a bit. The crystals were 90%/10% milky/clear on both plants and they have both been flushed extensively over the past 3 days (150L each a day). This plant for me, is a beautiful sight. I've never scrogged before and its very easy to enjoy looking at fat colas :)... I hope it's enjoyed as much by others. Can't wait to chop the bigger plants but I'm in no rush.

The buds on the bottom half of the hanging rack are from the 2nd plant while the top half is the other. The distance between each hanging pole is 12"(1 foot), hope that gives some perspective.
