Grow Mediums Think different scrog, hydroponic wilma system

Dude, that's a TON of bud, and I know EXACTLY what it looks like in person. Exactly what my table looked like. Big Fat Cola's!!!

Music to my ears Tavi man!! This blows any of my other grows out of the water!! These buds r hard as hell too!! Me and DeMac are 2 very happy farmers :)

Checked trichomes today for milky/ambering signs. 1 plant was 90% milky 10% amber, this was one of the more advance scrogged plants. The second more advanced scrogged plant was 100% milky and the third plant was around 90% milky 10% clear, this plant still has developing white hairs on the tips of its buds which the ladder plants have not got. Their hairs have started to twist up, turn yellow and have stopped developing. The other 4 plants are not showing any signs of finishing up this week.. But we will see :)

Still on course for our 3 day flush and then adding 1/4 strength nutes for the younger plants for the final stage.

Some trich pics

Here are some trichome pics from the plant that is being chopped on Wed/Thurs. We have a 60x pocket magnifier and I was able to line up the camera and magnifying lens. It works better taking the pics during lights off. I was surprised at the detail in the shots.

I'm also adding a few main cola pics from the soil plants: TD Twin, TD, 2 White Widow ...

I'm looking forward to posting our smoke report on the different phenos we have!!

how old are the plants?

are you set on cutting them this wednesday/thurs?

im asking because i see mosty clear trichomes on and some milk but not even 1 amber. (unless i somehow missed it)

you can wait it out and she should still get thicker and definitely more potent ans the clear trichomes will milk then amber.

just my 2 cents my friend -- but the choice is yours.

Your 2 cents are worth a million my friend, I have decided to reconsider. I thought the same last night when looking at the trich pics but I thought it was just the camera I was using then after reading your comment, I carefully checked most of the bud sites on the plant I was gonna chop tomorrow, it's easy to see that the majority of the trichs are clear or milky (this can be seen in the bud site pics I put up last night).. I spotted some amber yesterday morning but now i think about it, the amber was only present on the very top of the main cola (90%/10%).. This plant is now on day 84.

I flushed the res all day yesterday but soon as i read your comment and checked the trichs again I added 1/4 strength nutes. Gonna continue the nutes for anther 10-14 days to get as much out of the plant as possible. I also read an article last night on harvesting. I don't know weather to harvest when it's 100% cloudy (give or take 5%) Or to wait for significant ambering??

The article suggests to chop when the majority of the plant is approximately 85% cloudy, 10% amber, 5% clear...

I would've went ahead and chopped that plant on thurs night without your input and it wouldn't have reached its potential. Thank you Herb, i value and appreciate your help..

glad you reconsidered.

you will be rewarded with some beautiful buds my friend.

its the last week or so thats the hardest (besides waiting for the buds to dry).

ive actually read that article and interestingly enough i harvested around (85% cloudy/10-15% amber/5%clear << the clear is the newest trichome growth.)

my original harvest time was to wait around 20-25% amber before harvest -- but ive read somewhere that plants continue to amber up while drying.
(this is because plants stay alive until the stems dries out etc. -- even if its been cut).

some people/article prefer 50/50% between amber/cloudy for the best of both worlds.

i think ill be sticking to 80-85%/10-15%/5% - cloudy/amber/clear -- just my personal preference for now.

and you already know to check for the following:
- pistils receding
- swollen calyx
- plant leaves yellowing and such
- overall appearance.

you can also start flushing if you choose -- at day 84 she should be dying pretty soon.

goodluck my friend!

It REALLY effects potency when you harvest too early. Worse thing you can do in my opinion. Personally I'd rather harvest late. Sucks to cut a bunch of BEAUTIFUL DANK LOOKING Bud, and be REALLY let down with the potency of it.

Cheers mate hope we do get rewarded :) gonna chop it all when the 5 younger ones trichs are at around the 85%/10%/5% ratio. Gonna give them a few more days nutes then flush em when the younger girls catch up. Some of the fan leaves have began to turn yellow and this is giving way to patches of purple and dark red throughout the dying leaves. A lot of the buds are also turning purple, Looks awesome!!

The young ones have still got pure white pistils while the 2 older plants pistils have began to recede. I'm really looking forward to harvest. I like this strain. It's high yielding and smells like heaven

:smokebuds:

Looking forward to my next grow:

1.2 x 1.2 tent
850w HPS
5 TDs
Wilma
3.5ft x 3.5ft Scrog
Cool-tubes
Co2
Formulex
Canna Aqua
Cannazyme
Rhizotonic
Silicone
Vitamin B
PK 13/14
Bloombastic

Hope it goes well...

Thanks again for all the help bros!! Good luck

Cheers Tavid, I'm gonna harvest the 2 older ones late and the other 5 should be in peak potency by this stage.. Looking forward to the smoke report.. I've gonna have a choice of hydro TD, soil TD, white widow and gonna make some hash too :)
