* A word of caution to the reader, this isn't just going to be mindless rambling and non-sense, I am trying to do what would ultimately be actual peer-reviewed papers and research. Anyone who wishes to contribute please don't hesitate to jump in. Personally this is more for my own records, but I do need help researching several things via case studies. This is going to be fun ! I have been off Opiates for a year and 6 months now - and I finally have my sober brain back - so, I'd like to have some fun with it and hopefully contribute to the Cannabis Culture and Community in doing so.

For now I will submit one single Hypothesis, and one single case study proposition. I would really value feedback and can reassure any contributors, this will be done in the spirit of AFN - meaning there are no right or wrong answers, nor stupid questions. If it's disdain for ridicule that causes you pause, or your absence from this conversation - I can assure you there will be none of that here. So let's get it done shall we.

Hypothesis number one - It's been known for some time that plants respond to various outside, non Organic Stimuli. Everything from music, to telepathic thoughts of harm or affection have overwhelmingly shown to cause both an immediate and a measurable response. In consideration of this - I submit that Harvesting and manicuring a living Cannabis plant in the presence of other living flowering plants would produce either a recognizable, chemical compound, or at the least a detectable Anomalous Phenomena - either of which aiding in excessive Trich production and faster maturation.

To summarize in layman's terms, if I kill a plant in front of it's maturing, flowering sisters - this can and will be sensed, and result in quicker finish times and higher terp production. Upon validation, I would then seek to isolate if the catalyst to this response is organic or Kinetic in nature and respond accordingly.

Ever notice how vastly different the effects of Cannabis can be, depending on where you are, and who you're with? Most long term Marijuana users have had the realization at some point. You get stuck smoking on the same strain, or go too hard on the extracts or just in general - and end up with a high tolerance that limits the medical and psychological reliefs of our medicine.
So, how do we break this plateau? Well for most of us, we switch strains, or we cut back and our tolerance responds accordingly. Makes perfect sense. That being said, what about the times that nothing changes. That for some reason, the same Dosage and Genotype of Cannabis that proved insufficient for days prior suddenly and quite unexpectedly literally, kicks your ass. You find yourself with all the side effects that correlate directly with being properly medicated (Cotton Mouth, Glassy eyes, etc.) .
The intent of this case study is to isolate if there are particular, common variables and demographics that cause this phenomenon. If these variables or demographics exist, we should be able to at least isolate them through the site and it's polling functionality - provided I have you the readers cooperation. Examples for variables would be isolation or solitude, social anxiety, performance anxiety, PTSD, etc. Fruition of this case study is dependant on member participation, however I do have outside polling options to consider.

Experiment #1 - "I submit that Harvesting and manicuring a living Cannabis plant in the presence of other living flowering plants would produce either a recognizable, chemical compound, or at the least a detectable Anomalous Phenomena - either of which aiding in excessive Trich production and faster maturation."

This experiment begins today 1-17-16.

For flowers, I will be using 4 Stone Dragons.
This way I can hopefully isolate 2 similar phenotype's as my control. Results will be recorded in writing, HD Video, and Macro photography.

interesting...........

Did you know that sick plants send out a pheremone based signal to certain bacteria and fungi, that respond by taking over some plant functions as they heal? That root tips can sense the location of other plants by making clicking noises?

Yes to the sick plant pheromone, and no, I didn't know about the root clicking - but I'm not surprised. Thank's for contributing - Happy Growing ! :weed::peace::weed:

The "Black Stones" look fairly similar so far - Hopefully I can find 2 identical Phenos :weed::goodluck::weed:
Going to take some pics here in a little while.

Had to reset and destroy the plants. Tried to order Nematodes to kill the Fungus Gnat larva that was eating the roots and stunting the growth, but ended up receiving a voucher to redeem instead of the actual product. After that, I just decided to scrap them and start off fresh in 2 Gallon DWC Yellow Jacket buckets. I ordered and received a new HPS and the buckets, as well as some Rock Wool cubes and Hydro Corn - and a gallon each of Skunkwerks Pro A+B. Going to drop fresh seeds today.

Quick change of gears. This is the first time I have been, and will be cutting the Nitrogen level out of my plants feed during flower.
I've always heard this is beneficial, particularly to Autoflowers.
I theorize that removing the Nitrogen during flower improves several things, the biggest of which being the smell.
Out of all the strains I've grown, only 2 have had a good, deep, permeating aroma / smell to them. Far removed from
the traditional smell of photo strains. I figure no Nitrogen causes significantly lower Chlorophyll production. As I understand it,
Chlorophyll is what causes the Alfalfa/Hay smell. So if my memory serves me correct, the plant will turn to it's internal reserves,
and nice uniform leaf leeching will ensue. All while Chlorophyll production slows to a crawl and the plant becomes more aromatic.

Thank you for that brother!
Very interesting.
A bit out of topic, but do you believe that the hypothesis, according to which pheromones released by flowering plants can provoke the flowering of other plants (seedlings and young plants) that are nearby, is valid?
I am not too sure what your theoretical knowledge on pheromones is, but I thought I would bring that up as I think I might be experiencing that phenomenon, having an old plant still flowering, near seedlings.
Anyways, looking forward to reading your reply, and appreciating the work you are doing.
Thank you!
Peace,
