Seed
Dinafem Haze 2.0 (Automatic Haze x Jack Herer Auto)

Lighting
Blackstar 240W LED for germ/veg.
Once she's tall enough to compete with the other girls in the tent, I'll move her under the 600w HPS (Hortilux) and keep her there through the end. I just use the LED for node spacing and to get some good light on the seedlings early on since my HPS setup is a pain in the neck to lower far enough down for a seedling.

Medium
Sunshine Mix #4 Advanced (soilless potting mix)

Nutes

-GH Flora series 3 part (only using 2 parts), using lucas formula for ratios http://lucasformula.com/
-GH CaliMagic
-GH pH UP

Container
2 Gallon Dirt Pot http://www.hydrofarm.com/product.php?itemid=12485

Water Source
Distilled bottled water or Reverse Osmosis purified tap water. For the initial testing, I used a 1g bottle of Deer Park distilled water to try to see if I could just blend it all together and nail the pH as per internet myth.

Day 1: Mixed 8ml of GH Micro into my gallon of water and stirred. Then mixed 16ml of GH Bloom into the jug and stirred. pH tested at 4.6 with a ppm of 917. I added 3ml of CaliMagic and shook vigorously, pH shifted to 4.57 (statistically insignificant) and ppm went up to 1000 (insignificant change if not for the fact that that's pretty high). I added 2.2 ml of GH pH UP solution (the blue stuff) and it was 5.79 (meh close enough!). I filled my container with SS#4 and watered heavily with another bottle of Deer Park distilled, until the soil was saturated, then put about 1/4 gallon of the nute mix in a jug with 1/4 gallon of dist. water and poured that over the top. Loosely buried my Haze 2.0 seed in the medium, did my typical "plastic bag tent" over the top, and threw her in the tent under the Blackstar. I'll keep a log...no pics unless something bizarre happens, I'm a little security shy as of late, but I'll make sure to document the growth as scientifically as I can (or feel like).

I think you could probably cut the nute serving in 1/2 or even 1/4 and do fine with autoflowers...that'll be my plan, as well as to use my RO for the remainder of the grow. I just wanted to use a bottle of store-bought distilled to see if this truly was an idiot-proof beginner's method...I forgot to check the pH/PPM of the water before mixing nutes, so my mediocre pH results at first might have been premature.

Gave a light feeding tonight, about 1/3 strength of the standard formula, pH to 6.3. I had to pick the shell casing off her (as well as the last 2 plants I germed...hmmm) but now she's good to go, very green but SMALL! I'm curious to see the pheno I get, I've seen some dwarfish fast-finishers and I've seen some proper jumbo-sized haze dominant auto phenos...here's hoping for the later!

1/2 gallon of 1/4 strength lucas formula administered this morning. So far she's growing great, but SS#4 has a good starter package in it, so I'm not yet ready to attribute anything to nutrients.

Can't wait to see it all unfold!
I've been wanting to see a grow all the way through with LUCAS for a long time now.
There's plenty of grows out there, but I just skimmed em.
Watch for burn early on, I've noticed seedlings will come up just fine when the PPM's are too high, and then BAM they start to burn all to hell.

Good luck with the experiment. I know i'll be watching, heard great things about the Lucas Formula, so will be good to see it in practice.

Hey guys, on hold, not growing MMJ at the moment for a couple of reasons. No legal trouble, but trying to keep it that way. I will 100% run lucas next MMJ grow I do, planning to do a side by side...one with H3ad's coco formula, one in SS#4 using the regular hydro formula...just have to put things on hold for a few months.

Bold and scientific. Imma check in on your grow from time to time. Should be a wild ride, eh?

edit: when it starts again. stay outta trouble bro. you'll be back in no time.
