Hey guys first time grower. Fascinated with growing and means save having to mess with dealers and random strains.

Thought a journal would be ideal so you guys could steer me in the right direction.

4 candy kush, 1 critical kush and 1 blue mammoth in the smart pot.
Lights - 600w Chinese LED
Light schedule 24h on
1mx1mx2m tent
4 inch exhaust fan with carbon filter 100cfm
Passive intake, 2 open.
5 yellow air pots
1 square smart pot 11Litre
Growing in coco perlite mix
Canna a+b and cal mag
Ph 5.5-6
Temps 27C humidity 57%

Went straight from root riot cubes to the final pots and think I over watered initially.
Been using nutes at 1/4 strength. Watering small amount daily, too inch of soil is staying moist.

Currently about 2 weeks from seed. Blue mammoth is the smallest, the others mostly seem to be doing well.

Is this dropping from over watering?

:welcome: Welcome aboard! Nice setup.

I'm a first time grower myself, so I'm going to leave your questions for some of the more experienced folks on here. What I will say is that your plants look a little leggy like they're stretching for the light. How far above your plants do you currently have your light?

Good luck!

About 50cm/20 inches. Should it be lower?

Hey hazzle

Welcome to The Forum, and congratulations on starting your first grow. You'll find a lot of experienced Grower's here can you give me some good tips and advice.

I grow in a Coco perlite mix myself and have been doing so for a few years now. I can tell you that you are either going to have not enough light or too many plants if things go well. Growing in Coco and perlite you can get some real massive yields and size.

I have a few pointers here that should help you out. As far as watering goes in Coco you need to make sure that every watering has nutrients in it and that you water completely to run off. So you should have 10 to 15% run off and your plants shouldn't reabsorb that run off. How often you water will depend upon how quickly your plants are growing and how big you want them to get. I generally start watering daily once my plants get a mature root system in place that's about 3 weeks of age. Although, I wouldn't recommend you water daily until they need it just because you're going to be limited on lighting. Then on the pH its best in my opinion to stay above 5.8. so I typically run my pH at about 5.8 up to around 6.3. Calcium gets exponentially harder for your plant to uptake each tenth of a point you drop below 5.8.

To help you keep the plants from reabsorbing the nutrients you can put some bricks under the pot inside your little catch trays.

I didn't see you mention whether you had an oscillating fan it's a good idea to get to one of those blowing gently across the top of your plants. If your pH is on the low side say in the thirties, you don't want the fan to be blowing very hard or you'll have some over transpiration.

As long as your background water isn't high in total dissolved solids or EC you can go ahead and Trust the feed chart and feed full strength. I found with Autos that I hold the transition schedule longer but that's about the only difference for me.

If you should have any specific questions just tag me by placing the @ sign in front of my name.

Massive respect mate. Thanks for the tips.

@jingo do you think I should remove a plant then?
That's a to call to make, if you do well on your first grow you'll be overgrown. If you do average you could be alright. When I first started growing I was happy if I got a couple ounces a plant, now I average about 14 ounces a plant with 300 wall watts of LED.

hey bro congrats on your first grow. im a hydro grower so wont be much use to you unfortunately but jingo there is an awesome grower and youd do very well to have a look through his journals. happy growing buddy : )
