The GLR Light Schedule (Gas Lantern Routine)

The stretch it causes... I don't really care for it. BUT, as long as my girls benefit from it, I'm all for it! I currently have 2 month old plants, and a few week old plants growing under the GLR. I've seen some awesome grows (@Groff is the main reason I decided to try it), so I'm a believer, I just hope I'm able to dial my shit in so my plants properly benefit from it. It definitely takes some getting used to, tho, because I like feeding my plants frequently, but with the GLR, it seems they consume less food. Keep up the good work and research!

Interesting... What strains have you got under the GLR?

I wonder though if the plants actually comsume less or if there is less evaporation taking place? Having the lamp running for 20 hours staight is bound to dry out the medium much quicker than with the GLR...

Cheers,
Hardon

Isn't that a bonus?

Not to mention the additional loss of moisture via transpiration

Cheers for the rep manin Hawaii Running costs are a major thing for a lot of people. I'm only running a 400w lamp on 20/4 and it costs me around £70-80 a month. Unfortunately I've had to abandon the GLR for my current run due to the lights off temps. I will be using it for my springtime grow (weather pending!) as well as the epic summer grow off SCROG with Roark.

Good to have you onboard man!

Hardon
So help me do my tent the glr way so you can learn with me. I live in Hawaii no worries about cold weather, I can start now, I got timers. Tell me the schedule you suggest for on off times, I will implement. I will post on the free comparative grow off in the vault section and lets play dude!

I'm running a couple dragons, and the babies are Fantasy Express and Deep Blue C, both Mephisto products, and Red Poison and Bloody Skunk, which are both Sweet Seeds. The fact that the plants don't consume food as quickly isn't bad, I'm just not used to it. I guess I just have that parent mentality; a baby with a healthy appetite is a healthy, and I feel most comfy when my little ones are eating a lot. I did more reading and I've seen several growers state that their plants stretched more when running the GLR, so I guess that's the norm.

It does seem like it will save money on nutrients

So can I modify the lighting to say 12, 6, 2, 6?

That would be a 26 hour light schedule. The GLR is typically 12, 5.5, 1, 5.5

No worries man. You want to run the timers 12 hours on, 5.5 hours off, 1 hour on, 5.5 hours off and repeat.

Big thanks for doing this man!

Sweet man. I like Sweet Seeds, have grown out a few of their strains. Do you intend to run these for the duration under the GLR?

Yeah. A day or two, I was on the verge of panic, due to the stretching, so I was gonna flip over to 18/6, but after doing a bit more reading, I decided to man up, check my nuts, and finish it out GLR style

That is what the GLR is all about - Mannin' up, checkin' your nuts and stylin' it out :headbang:

Be sure to keep us posted on how they turn out.
