New Grower The Garden of Beavis

Did some rearranging tonight..I don't know how it's all going to fit....View attachment 1056223

i'm gonna be honest mate, i'm not sure how it's all going to fit in there! if Sammy OG decides to take off bro she'll want at least half that space to herself :crying:

they look great, nice and healthy.

i've seen those tower fans mounted up high horizontally in tents to save space, might be an option if you're struggling.

What froot said!

It's not gonna fit in there on the floor. I've tried to do the same thing with four plants in my 1x1 and it doesn't work, your girls won't thank you for it.
You'd probably be fine with 4 clip ons running full blast. Do you have an exhaust running? You could also just stick a desk fan on the floor in there and raise you pots up a touch. Mounting a floor standing fan to a wall seems like more effort that it'll be worth and not really a long term solution but I guess it would work if you really had to.

I'm in essentially a 3'x3'.

Okay so the elevated pots and floor ran are exactly how it's set right now. 4" extraction fan at the top of tent pulling out to a filter outside. (I know)

Seems to be working well for now but who knows how long it will last.

The tower fan is on the way so it will be used somewhere. I can get another tent cheap but it's the filter and power that I don't really have setup for right now. (Older house with bad outlets lol)

And now for something different....what would you guys make of these 5 gallon containers? I bought a 5 gal bucket to assist with mixing nutes and feeding. Used it today and realized that my '5 gal' smart pots are not quite as big as the bucket. Circumference is the same on both...

The pots came from eBay so they are probably really off bad.

The buckets are 5 gal to the rim, I have the same for my hash making. I had to cut down the rim to make them truly 5 gal.

Sorry, I should have said, my tent is 1 metre squared, not foot!

I only say it as I've done exactly the same thing as you thinking it would be fine and it wasn't. You won't have the space and the leaves will end up getting chewed off by the fan. It was an absolute disaster!

I know it seems fine now, but you're growing some killer looking plants in there, they'll seriously fill that space out and even in the best case scenario you're giving space to the fan and not the plants.

As it's on it's way, I'd suggest looking at a temporary measure like @Froot n Fuel quite ingeniously suggested to suspend it horizontally. I'm lazy and would just sort something else out and enjoy the fan in the living space for the summer months, but I'd say Froot hit the nail on the head and you should look at something like that.

Sorry, i didn't mean to come off dickish at all. I'm stoned to bone right now. Not telling you what to do, just telling you the mistakes I've made that I wish someone had advised me against.

:peace:

Oh and with the filter, i know you know, but you wanna get that in the tent before flower kicks off, you're growing some pretty stinky strains. How come you have it set up like that? You wanna be pulling air through the filter, not into it.

Setting that up was the most difficult thing for me, lots of stoned slightly paranoid trips to the hardware store!

It is set up as exhaust not intake so I figured it would be okay until next time. I fucked up and removed the felt prefilter that was on it not knowing better and my tent is not sturdy enough to support the weight of it plus my lights. (super cheap tent)

I am hoping the filter will last through the grow and then I can fix, but am prepared for the worst if it happens.

@NiceOption

And thank you so much for time and input on this issue. I am going to let it go for now and when it does get to be too full I will take one out and possibly just do it beside the tent with a light over it somehow. Either that or take her outside until I can figure something else out.

I love the idea about suspending the fan horizontally, but I don't think that will work. It is a 40" tower fan, my tent is 31" wide lol.

I have a feeling that the CDLC that I topped is going to be the one to go and will just have to use this as a lesson learned for next time.

BY THE WAY!

Thank you for the compliment about the killer looking plants. That really means a lot. I am kind of modest to say the least and I have actually really surprised myself at how well it is all going so far, especially with this being my first grow ever lol.

She is already hogging A LOT of space. I don't know how much longer I have of the stretch (@ day 32) but I am honestly praying it stops soon. I would rather focus on the other strains just because of their dank smell and appearance, but Sam's seems like she is going to PRODUCE.

Thanks for your input @Froot n Fuel it always helps to get multiple angles on these types of problems when you're a newbie like myself.

Thoughts on defol where needed along the way and supercropping as well where needed?

I think the wife is almost convinced that I need another tent lol but I really don't want to go that big yet.

Sounds like you've got it covered and know what to expect, I'm sure all will be fine! It would be a shame to lose a CDLC though!

If you want to grow 4 plants a time I'd say the minimum would be 1mx1m but if you can dial it in and work out an airflow solution you could probably get away with packing them in. Strain selection might come into play as well. Mephisto all seem to be on the smaller side for the most part. Which isn't to say they don't yield at all, they just tend to grow quite squat in comparison to some others like Fast Buds, which tend to be on the bigger side in my experience. Something to do with the ruderalis they use perhaps (?)

I'm a bit defol-phobic but a long as you take off enough to expose all the bud sides, you'll be fine. Some people lollipop and use other more aggressive defol techniques to increase bud production etc but I'd avoid that sort of thing with your first grow and just watch what the plants want to do before you start forcing them to do what you want them to do. Before you do any major defol, try to open them up as much as possible by pulling out the lowers and then defol after as you might be tempted to take off more than you really need to otherwise.
It doesn't look like you'll need to supercrop but if they do begin to grow into the light then yeah, go for it! It can be quite beneficial to yield if you do it correctly too. My biggest yielding plant was supercropped and the colas that got it definitely grew the largest.

Anyway, keep it up! You're doing very, very well!
