I will caveat that with the fact that it is the only VR game I have had a go at, so I have nothing to compare it to

And the retro bandwagon just keeps growing, now there's a "Classic PC" Dos box coming to somewhere near you at an indeterminate point in the future where you start with 30 "Classic PC Dos Games" and can expand that using an SD card.

Obviously they hope here's enough mugs out there with a PC who will shell out for a basic version of what they have to play games that are freely available to play on their existing system.

The old saying regarding fools and their money definitely applies in this case...

So it's getting silly here now.

As I wait for a modchip for the PS1, today I got spare memory cards and a Gamehunter cartridge and everything is begging to be reflashed to softmod that console. The softmod works, then I can get my grubbies on another PS1for 10 bucks and modchip that meaning the value quadruples for an outlay of 2 bucks extra.

Then I'm waiting on a "modified" memory card for a PS2 I picked up for 20 bucks, and then a hard disk adapter will be bought for that for obvious reasons. Value then rockets.

And I'll get around to softmodding the PS3.

Thankfully SWMBO has stopped me looking at some other systems, especially when CD32 consoles are going for half a grand and you don't want to know what people are asking for tobacco stained Amigas....

So the GameHunter cartridge cannot be flashed, BUT there is a simple workaround which has let me play Crash Bandicoot for the first time in years.

Why do that? Simple, have you seen the price for certain PSX games? I'll shell out 40 or 50 bucks for a new PC game but if you think I'm spending that on something that is *ahem* years old then you're sadly mistaken.

Obviously, I'm not saying anything about HOW to do the workaround nor where to get the disk images, that's getting into the realms of "too dodgy" and we don't want the forum getting into any bother from the usual legal people should some jobsworth go googling to see if people are doing the sort of thing I am doing.
