New Grower The F'ing Finally Grows - first time grower, semi-perpetual

Oh, and, p.s., I think this 3BOG is gonna stink. She already smells like weed if you stick your nose in close enough. By contrast, the SweetSkunk smells like nothing.

Here's to hoping the filter's up for it.

OK, so today was busy for me and I only got around to watering twice. ~100ml around noon, so I figured a ~200ml feed would bring me to about the equivalent amount of water to the ~300ml it got yesterday and responded to well.

The rub: of the 200, about 100ml ran off, which means less of the feed stayed in the substrate today than yesterday. I can't imagine this is a big deal, so I'm not exactly worried, but I am trying to figure out if I would be better off doing more smaller feeds, fewer bigger ones, or more big ones with lighter nute loads, etc. @slowandeasy any tips?
In those size pots and at that stage of the plants life...any runoff is too much runoff. Aim for no runoff til they get much larger, weeks away. Use your hands to lift your pots. If you want to feed more often, don't water as much per time. I don't really keep track of exactly how much goes in and out, because I don't aim for runoff until they are basically Flowering. And when you water 6x per day, that is even more important at the beginning. Feeding too often to runoff in seedling stage is counter productive for the roots. Moist, not wet. Use less for example, use 100ml instead of 200ml. And don't look for runoff. If 100ml gives runoff, wait longer before next watering. Good luck

Okay so things have been kinda off for a couple days. Lots of work around the house, so not much time to fuck around with the plants; also meant it took me longer than I would have liked to notice my lights were fucking up.
[rant]Basically the potentiometer got jacked somehow, which led to the circuit running open, which led to the cobs drawing too much current, thus running at too high a voltage, and, finally, tripping the over-voltage protection so the driver was only running at like 20-30% or some shit. So now I have only 4 of the 5 cobs running at full power(~200w). I had a full scale freakout over this yesterday - being the kind of asshole who sticks to his decisions sucks when that decision is to never buy weed at black market prices again, so now I can't even smoke to chill out when I'm freaking out about fucking up my weed grow - but honestly 200w is plenty for now - too much even - and, assuming I'm correct about what happened, this is an easy fix. SO THERE'S THAT.[/rant]

ANYWAY, this is the condition of the tent today. I dunno if my bad vibes from the last couple days have had an impact on the plants or if changing the feeding schedule was what done it, but the 3BOG is looking kinda sad. Droopy. Can't tell if it's from over or underwatering, but the medium feels moist so I'm going to go ahead and assume the first. I'm also mildly suspecting the feed may be a little light - it's kind of pale closer to the stem. If it doesn't perk up by tomorrow I'll start poking around the infirmary, but for now I figure it's nothing to get my panties all up in a bunch about - mostly because it's still producing new sets of leaves, with more leaves on them, getting wider and (slightly) taller, and getting more noticeably smelly.

The Sweet Skunk looks messed up but that's more because it's actually pretty healthy and moving quickly towards the light, but it had to move a bunch these last couple of days and was pulled in all different directions. Took off its little tether too, figure it'd be better to just let it grow if it's not going to be in the same angle to the light every day. It'll straighten up by tomorrow.

These are the little babies of the tent. On the left is a jalapeno, on the right is a Sour Stomper that is either mildly mutated or was somehow damaged trying to poke its head out; one of the cotyledons is like folded over and the other is also weird looking. It was also a little too close to the lights over night (like, a fuck ton too close), and its stem got darker. All that said, she has tiny teeny little first leaves growing, so maybe she'll make it. Either way, good thing I put in an order today (don't tell my girl). Both the pepper and the Stomper are in coco in ~.5l containers: pepper was in a little amended coco in paper cupcake thingy and was planted in precharged coco; the Stomper is in rockwool planted into the small container with dry coco.

So, yeah. Bumpy few days. Here's to hoping I've learned something.

Fill ur pots up,cover some of the stems up,make for a sturdier plant(hold more bud)
Davo
All lookin good,go easy on the water,I always used to fuck up and overwater[emoji38],best bet go off weight of pot [emoji106][emoji106]

They spent their first few days on a windowsill, so they got to stretching. I'll post some pics tomorrow, but they're pretty sturdy now (the crooked Skunk girl has straightened out). They're getting a bit of wind and seem to be taking it well.

Yeah the watering has been a bit of a curve, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Coco is nice because you can literally hear the water being absorbed, and the run off comes out quickly, so it's pretty easy to figure out how not to severely overwater like this.

Thanks for checking in.

OOOOOHHHHH WEEEEE what a fucking weekend.

Light started giving me helllllllllla shit again - on Friday, ~30 minutes after the hydro shop closed. Order I put in for parts is still 'on its way'. So the girls spent the weekend more or less unlit (tent was like half open). I had to be out of the house too, so I figured I'd just ride it out. Get to the store yesterday, get me a 125w T5 CFL to tide me over - gotta give props to the owner who talked me down from getting an HID setup just for this. Works for an hour, shorts out, not working anymore (starting to make me think our electrical circuits may be unstable, but who knows). Brought it back in today - out of the 125s. Now I've got 2 CFLs, an 85w and a 65w. Should do the trick until I get the COB light rebuilt from the ground up, with better cables, super high quality potentiometer, the whole nine.

Funny thing is the girls seem better than they did (a little pale - went underfed too. The frustration from the whole situation led to them getting the cold shoulder). I'm thinking I was over lighting them to the extreme.

ANYHOW, pics. Overview first, details next:

The 3BOG, looking more or less alright - less droopy, more pale (not quite as bad IRL), so on balance, fine. Getting fed just under 1.0EC, will probably be getting bumped up a smidge if it doesn't color up over the next couple of days.

Sweet Skunk - doing good, still going at it. Still getting mostly water (Calmag every once in a while):

Sour Stomper is still mutated as fuck, plus got a bit of a bump (SUPERCROPPING AMIRITE) while I was moving everything around today:

And finally, a new girl - Supernatural OG, planted straight into a little thing of coco/perlite. Lets see what 'learning opportunities' aka panic attacks aka fucking lessons in patience and self control she has in store for us:

Yeah I'm very surprised at what a hardy little plant that could these ladies are turning out to be. Keep thinking that if I had these kinds of problems running photos I'd have had to restart my grow, probably more than once at this point - but everything I planted is going (and all but the Stomper are even going more or less well).

BTW, I have a bunch of Thai Birdseye chilis (straight from Thailand too) that will hopefully germ over the next week and use up tent space until no longer feasible due to TOO MUCH WEED. Hopefully, we can reach TOO MUCH WEED station ASAP, but to be honest I'll shit a happy brick if I only get to like THAT'S A NICE LITTLE JAR OF WEED or even THAT'S ENOUGH FOR A GREAT JOINT OR TWO.
