Is there an advantage to having the soil constantly moist? I've always thought that you wanted wet/dry cycles. Either way your seedlings look great!

I don't know, really. I guess as long as the moisture is optimal so that the plant doesn't drown or dry out it's all good. Certainly seems that way. I too would like to know whether either method has advantages over the other.

The water reservoir has now been upgraded from a 1 liter pickle jar to a 5 liter water bottle. There's probably closer to 4 liters of water that's usable by the Blumats but I hope it'll be enough for 5 straight days throughout the grow. Moving the reservoir outside the cabinet also freed up a bit of space which is nice.

16 days from sprout
Everything's still going great. The plants *could* have a couple of nodes more already based on what I've seen but I'm not complaining. Far from it; the gals are already growing hair after two weeks. I'm pretty sure they were suffering from heat stress last weekend because their second set of true leaves grew out a bit wonky but new growth after moving the light up is fine.
I'm going to make some further improvements to the grow over the weekend, namely mylar interiors, improved reservoir and CO2 generator.

Meet my new and improved (again) micro cab!
Nothing much has happened inside, but what little has is quite apparent. The cab now looks a little more clean and light is being reflected a lot better.
Behind the scenes, however, it's a total mess.
Let's break it down.
The water reservoir now has an air stone in it. The black power cord goes on top of the cabinet where a small, 'super silent' aquarium pump is tucked away between blankets. It has a capacity of 90l/h. The purpose of the air stone is to keep Bio-Bloom and TopMax mixed in the reservoir so they won't gunk up the Blumats. It also adds oxygen to the water which might be beneficial to the microbes in the soil.
In front of the water res is the CO2 generator. It's the classic sugar and yeast recipe mixed in 4 liters of water. CO2 travels through the water lock in the smaller bottle and into the actual grow space. I'm planning on having the tube around the scrog frame and making little holes in it. The tube can already be seen sticking out on the inside of the cab The reason why I need CO2 is to help the plant survive the high daytime temperatures which might climb even as high as 85 degrees at canopy level.
During a week it should produce anywhere between 150 and 300 liters of CO2 which might accumulate and become an overkill since there's next to no air exchange in and out of the closet. We'll see.
And yeah, I do realize the pants are covered in cat hair.

Day 18
First manual feeding as follows
0.5 l tap water from well
0.5 ml Bio-Grow
5 ml seaweed extract
~1/2 tsp molasses
~1/2 tsp epsom salt
Also added 2 ml of both Top-Max and Bio-Bloom in the 4 liter reservoir.

Two valuable lessons have been learned in the past few days. The first thing I noticed was that Durban Poison is developing a bit faster. She's started to branch out nicely whereas the branches on the White Widow have hardly grown at all. I think it's because manually feeding when the soil was already moist. Her root system isn't quite big enough for that yet. Durban Poison not only had less to drink but she has probably filled the smaller pot already. It's a bummer I can't use Bio-Grow in the reservoir.
Another mistake I made is that I had the light too high for some time. This caused both of the plants to grow a pretty stretched out node.
White Widow grew about 1.5" which is a bit too much. Durban Poison kept it a bit shorter but not by much.
I gave them their first taste of LST and lowered the light over an inch. Should keep the little hooligans down.

How do you do for odour control?
Well, the 4" setup (TD-Silent 160/100 & Rhino filter) I have is pretty quiet and gets the job done. I only get a faint aroma in the room when I open the cabinet.

Well, fuck. I was gone for three days and everything went to hell in a handbasket. White Widow was nearly dead and Durban Poison was starving. Well they both were starving.
One (or both) Blumats had failed, I've yet to investigate why. I gave them a bit of straight water and then what I think was a pretty strong feeding with every nutrient except molasses. I think WW is going to be alright but this will put a serious dent in the outcome of this grow. I haven't been this pissed at myself for ages.
