Lighting The Bucket Strikes Back! (3 autos with LEDs)

Hey all! How you doing? Today I finished drying the last batch of buds. The Assorted Auto #1 was the last bud to be put in crystal jars for a better cure. I still have to take dry weight measurements from both the Fast Bud and this Assorted#1, I'll try to take them soon, as I am also wondering about that. The bad part is that today I also finished my last Green Poison buds so the total weight from the 3 large ladies harvest will not be known :(

Anyways, here are some shots of the Assorted#1 buds:

And also a close pic of the youngest seedling, the Sweet Afghani Delicious which sprouted yesterday :) I might have to help her with that seed shell...

I'll update soon with more pics, stay tuned ;)

Best regards!

I bring some new pics of my little girls... The oldest one, the Assorted#2 (46 days old) is being sprayed with CS daily. The lower half of the main stem is clearly colored in a different, more dark way. The parts the CS touches are darker with a brownish/silversish color. Most of the pistils in these parts are yellow or brown instead of white. Most of the main cola is white though:

The next one is the Sweet Skunk#1. She's 33 days old. I applied some LST yesterday because she's not apparently growing anymore, and I want some action for her :booya: let's see if I at least get another side cola to develop...or at least more vertical growth!
ssa1.jpg ssa2.jpg ssa3.jpg

The Fast Bud is 17 days old. She's big and apparently faster than the other seedlings, I love this strain. My previous FB is some quality smoke! :toke: I'll start LST'ing her soon:
fb1.jpg fb2.jpg

The Sweet Skunk Auto#2 is 16 days old. Looking pretty, but definitely slower than the FB which is only 1 day ahead. LST will start soon for her too:
ssa#2.jpg ssa#2b.jpg

The little Sweet Cheese Auto is 10 days old. She looks pretty too, although I see some weirdness on her leaves... dunno what exactly is but I see something strange... Anyways I love strange looking leaves... the previous Fast Bud had them in her beginnings too, and she ended being such a beauty ;)

And finally the youngest one, the Sweet Afghani Delicious (SAD) Auto, which is going to live in a mini container for the time being... she's on a ~700ml pot and is 2 days old. I just planted this one to fill the only gap left on the bucket floor hehehe so I'm not looking for a great yield but at least some variety. Even if I get only a couple of grams it would be worth it :D

Well, that's all for now, thanks for passing by, have a great weekend!
:peace:

I finally weighted the dried buds of the Fast Bud and the Assorted Auto #1. The Fast Bud yielded 14.9 grams and the Assorted#1 yielded 15.4 grams. I picked samples from both so the true final weight would be a bit higher (like 0.5 grams more or so). I'm really happy with this result. My guess is that the 3 big plants yielded almost 45 grams, probably a bit less because of the Green Poison Auto and the lower yield I got from her. But I'm happy anyways :D this would mean I got almost 0.5 grams/watt, if the led UFO really draws 90 watts that is.

On the other hand I had a small accident with the Assorted#2, because it got bent again exactly on the same place than before. Now the main stem is almost totally cracked  I tried to put it toghether again using some duct tape. The affected part is exactly the main cola, the one I wasn't spraying, so I really want her to recover... OMG poor plant, she's been through a lot, that's for sure!

I'll update with pics later. Thanks for passing by! See you!

Is the smoke any good?

Hey agito thanks for your words! The smoke is good, although I can't fully describe it right now. The Green Poison was smoked before curing at all, so it could probably have improved. The Green Poison was really good, nice smell and flavor, really relaxing and stoney smoke. I might try it again in the future (got too many strains to test ATM hehe), and see if I can get a better yielding plant. I sampled some Fast Bud and Assorted#1 too but they were uncured samples, both were more heady than the GPA, even though they were more ripe when harvested. This could change with some cure though.

One thing that bothers me is that all the weed I have harvested seems to LOSE aroma when they are dried. I mean, just after harvesting the buds smell plenty, but when they are dried and ready to go to crystal jars, the smell seems to be gone. These buds don't smell too strong at all, except when you grind them to make one :toke: then the aroma flies and is great. But the dried, non-touched buds don't smell much at all. I don't know what to think about this... it's good because it's stealthy, but I wouldn't mind more smelly buds.

Anyways, I'll try to post some smoke reports when I get the chance to sample nicely cured buds.

Best regards!

Here I come with some recent pics. From older to younger:

First the Assorted Auto #2, she's still being sprayed with my homemade CS. She's looking alright for now, let's see what happens with the awful injury I inflicted her... She's already taller than the UFO, so I might have to bend her down somehow. I'm really surprised with the height of this plant, she's already as tall as the pot she's into. She's not too bushy though, and the stems are not very strong. The poor has had a tough life until now... and the spray won't help on that subject either... If I get some pollen off her I think it would be a pretty sturdy set of genetics :p

The Sweet Skunk Auto #1 looks like she has not grown at all this last week. I just hope she gets at least a bit taller, and then fatter lol. After applying LST she has already risen her head. She has more white hairs appearing on her lower parts:
ssaA.jpg ssaB.jpg ssaC.jpg

Next, the younger ones. From left to right: Fast Bud, Sweet Skunk Auto #2, Sweet Cheese Auto and the little Sweet Afghani Delicious Auto (this one was born with a twisted cotyledon, which is already yellowing up):

Finally a group shot, taken after watering all of them and positioning each pot (it's not that easy, it's getting crowded in there!)

Well that's it for now. I'm off to smoke 1 :toke:

See you!

Hey all! Time for an update. First the CS treated plant, the Assorted#2. She's still under treatment and will continue at least for some more days. I'm not sure if there are bananas forming or if it's only new growth appearing. There are formations which are seed-shaped and sprout a couple of hairs (I think that's a normal part of an autoflowering female plant?). The injury I inflicted her is still covered with the duct tape; the upper cola is doing fine, so I guess I will leave the duct tape just to be on the safe side...
aa#2_1.jpg aa#2_2.jpg

The Sweet Skunk#1 is doing OK I guess... slow growth, I decided to apply some more LST to try my luck at getting side colas developed... It's well into flowering already, but she should be able to grow a little more... please!
ssa#1_1.jpg ssa#1_2.jpg ssa#1_4.jpg

The Fast Bud is already flowering too. She's really fast, quite bushy and small just exactly how I like them hehehe, this shape is great for a bucket grow . Today I began applying LST to get a nice even more bushy Fast Bud:
fb1.jpg fb2.jpg fb3.jpg

The Sweet Skunk#2 is doing fine, although she has a slightly more light green color on most leaves, something is not totally right with her... she's also the smallest one (width-wise), even though she's older than the Sweet Cheese she looks smaller. She has shown white hairs and is flowering already. I applied LST to her today too:
ssa#2_1.jpg ssa#2_3.jpg ssa#2_4.jpg

Finally the Sweet Cheese Auto. She's doing great IMO, although she looks a bit odd because the growth is not symmetrical (I always had symmetrical growth with my previous seedlings). She's younger than the others but has some serious foliage surface already. I'll wait for a new node to develop completely before applying LST to her, because she's still a bit short for my tastes:
sca.jpg

Sorry no pic of the little SAD today (she's doing fine though). BTW I have fed the oldest 2 plants (Assorted#2 and SSA#1) with a dilution of Canna PK13-14. The dilution had pH 6.5 and ec 0.95, so it's not a very hot mix. I wish this helps with developing those budsites! The other plants received ph'ed water into the soil and a bit of mist to simulate a summer rain :D

That's it for now! Thanks for passing by friends! See you!

Hey all! Thanks for the comment BC! To be honest my previous harvest was 1 larger plant, and got a lower yield. Probably because of me, but I prefer several smaller plants because I can try different strains and it's more difficult to screw all of them at once :crying:

Express pic update. From left to right (oldest to youngest) they are Assorted#2, Sweet Skunk#1, Fast Bud, Sweet Skunk#2, Sweet Cheese and Sweet Afghani Delicious:
aa#2.jpg ssa.jpg fb.jpg ssa#2.jpg sca.jpg sad.jpg

The Assorted#2 (1st pic) has been "mutilated" because it was getting too tall. I had to bend the main head, and although it does not look like it's going to die, the main cola shows no signs of maturing either. I think the CS has worked and there might be some bananas forming (quite difficult to see with the cam, not 100% sure though). Now let's see if the bananas really form and if they produce viable pollen...

The Sweet Skunk#1 (2nd pic) is getting fatter and shows a couple of secondary heads. She will most probably remain a dwarf.

The Fast Bud (3rd pic) looks good and is developing normally, also showing a couple of heads already thanks to the LST.

The Sweet Skunk#2 (4th pic) also looks good, in the lines of the Fast Bud. LST'ed her as well.

The Sweet Cheese (5th pic) really amazes me! She is younger than the previous 2 plants, but is bigger already! And they are all in pots of the same size (3 liter ~ 1 gallon). I did not apply LST to her yet, I will most probably do it soon because I like what LST does in such a reduced environment. But this lady has such large leaves! I love cheese BTW, so I'm eager to sample this strain :toke:

FInally the Sweet Afghani Delicious (last, 6th pic) which is struggling to live in a really tiny pot. She's doing fine for now :D

That's it for now! No more news ATM, we'll see what happens with the AA#2... If I finally get her to produce pollen I will probably allow a free pollination of the whole bucket. I have nowhere else to put my plants into, and I wouldn't mind getting seeded bud if that gets me some quality seeds ;) gotta think of the future!

Thanks for reading! I'm out!
