  • Update #6 @Waira
Photoperiod Strains: Banana Piepaya, High Society, and Purple Afghan Kush,
    Approximately 97 days old.
Had a bout of stormy weather lately (and more to come with Elsie moving up the coast). Anyway, caught some high winds and took damage with a bad split to the top leader of Banana Piepaya.

Here she is a couple of days later, all taped up and hoping for the best.

  • I was out of town for a bit so I went a little longer with out an update than I would have liked, I think my last update was 10-ish days ago.

I'm pretty surprised to see these plants looking like they do around only 6-ish weeks from sprout. This is my first time growing autos, so when they first started I was really wondering how they were going to do what they do as quickly as they are said to do so lol. It happens so quickly, crazy to have chunky frosted flowers forming already, and super cool to have flowers soaking up and ripening up underneath the peak summer sun light.

Mango Smile.....The past 3 days it has cranked up the amount of trichome/resin production quite a bit, all of my autos have actually lol. Smells of fermented fruit, mango, sour, honey. I like the structure of this plant, really open with large spacing between the nodes. A tall central cola with about 8 to 10 "satellite" colas around the base. This plant has attracted a lot of caterpillars, I've spotted and plucked off quite a bit of tiny baby caterpillars over the past week or so. I will be applying some BT this evening. Over the several years that I've grown it seems to me that "sativa" genetics and fruity strains tend to attract the most caterpillars.

Strawberry Mango Crumble......I feel this plant will be the first to finish. Has the largest buds out of my autos. Smells good but not amazing and doesn't have a super rich/pungent essence either. TBH I'm not a big fan of the aroma on this one, doesn't smell bad just isn't anything special. To me it has a somewhat sweet herbaceous/citrus/fruity essence, but nothing that makes me want to repeatedly tickle & smell a bud over & over again lol. Still a healthy & vigorous plant and something I am looking forward to smoking. The other SMC plant I have going has a different structure that is more squat & bushy compared to this one, and it has an amazing aroma like "red berry" candy. Really juicy smell, smells delicious.

    SMC_05.jpg

Creme de la Chem.....This is a killer looking lil plant! It is the smallest out of the 4 autos I have going but it has a super chunky look to it and I can tell the buds are going to be real fat. It has tons of resin/trichome production. I really like the looks of this plant and its overall character of it's aesthetics...Smells amazing too. The overall character of its aroma is like "tennis balls", it has a synthetic rubber/plastic essence to it but a lot more going on that makes it pretty complex and smells delicious to my nose almost like a cologne, it is a very classic "chem" essence to me. There are some woody notes, some notes of black pepper, a note that smells very similar to DMT, some "bad breathe" like smells (I've noticed similar notes in GMO and Peanut Butter breathe). A bit of some "incense"-like notes in the background...There is a lot going on with this one, so much so that I started another seed of CDLC a couple days ago, but this morning it looked like something chomped the cotyledons as soon as they sprouted up :frowny: .

Group Shot...Mango Smile front right, SMC front left, CDLC back right, and my 2nd SMC back left (didn't enter it in this comp). I've got clones in the middle pots, Mac-1 and Ice Cream Cake (not in this competition).

The tiny clone plant (Cinderella) has reverted to the veg stage and has some new growth. :yay: The Northern lights plant in the 5 gallon is plugging along and looking well. A pick of 2 other Northern lights regular seed plants. Wow lots of Mighty fine grows taking off :worship:

  • REGULAR UPDATE
    Waira

Since these two are the best of the bunch, my pick will be from these two girls. Next week I'll have a group shot.
I wonder what these girls would do with full light all day!!!

La Buena Hierba: Asian Haze #1 DAY 42
    42in tall

Still no sex and that sorta scares me. Just how big is she gonna get?:gassy:

La Buena Hierba: Asian Haze #2 DAY 42
    40in tall

Flowering nicely! I think she's gonna be a big girl!
This is the stand I found locally and thought I'd try it. It looks pretty flexible on how to place the connecting bars. I do wish the bars were 16in instead of 12in.

  • Update #7 @Waira
Photoperiod Strains: Banana Piepaya, High Society, and Purple Afghan Kush,
    Approximately 105 days old.
Well we survived hurricane Elsa - fortunately it was just a tropical storm by the time it got to New England. Only split a couple of leading branches, but that was me moving them back and forth from a sheltered place. I'm not complaining; this is easy compared to the horrendous weather so many others are getting; floods in Europe and parts of USA, heat-fire-&-drought in many other pasts of USA. Yipes!!
