Completed The 2021 Outdoor Auto/Photo Competition!

Supercropping example.. the EBBxCS as it was growing out the roof vent window. Just rolled the stalk back a forth between my fingers a bit to break downt the fibre a little. And then supercropped a branch to get it out of the way of the main.

:crying: ayuh! .... coulda-woulda-shoulda Bill, I was leaning toward pushing you to top her, but after watching her sister early on, this one didn't seem to need it-- at the time :rolleyes2:.... 20/20 hindsight says "oops",... :face:
*( just saw the next page- oh well, it's still an option!)
Now you can supercrop her, kink the main stem over and start directing the growth horizontally,... It's not something I have a lot of experience with, but the few times I've done it, I started gently squeezing the stem where I wanted the kink at, all around, to soften it some... then I took a pencil, braced it against the stem, then gently bent the stem across it... Chances are it's hollow and still pretty pliable, so ti should go easy and not snap,... Once that's done, support it in place some while it forms a knuckle of scar tissue at the site... those side branches should all become nice mini-colas all their own vs. just side buds :greenthumb:..looks wonky but it works well!
I'd try above the next node above the top of the net... 2nd pic, above the green bar, kink above that node... or if it feels soft enough, below it...View attachment 1349169

:greenthumb:wow, they took all that with a smile and look great GTG! :d5:
I almost did exactly what you proposed on super cropping. Kinda what deterred me was the way her sister is forming buds and branches at the very top. There's quite a bit going on at the very top. I'm training them on the other girl so it won't just be one really huge(really fat) cola if I let them grow naturally. and they fill in. If she finishes in a month, I would be ok humidity wise. That's why I didn't do it.

Now, she is a little more organized up top than the other.

Now, I did substitute the top poles with 2ft pipe and her top is just touching the net.I'm gonna let her run like that ans see if she comes up to that level. Now if she blows past that, I'll have to supercrop. I really can't/shouldn't let her go much past that. She may stand out too much.

I'm trying grow her in the least evasive manner with limited stress from training. I'm really trying to make that part of my procedures when I first grow a strain. I kinda want to see what she does naturally. Kinda like those nice structured girls you posted yesterday.

Now here's the challenge: Grow one of these girls in a 4x4 tent.:eyebrows:
I could see myself doing that if I convert my old race trailer into a growroom and add a couple tents. I think that would be a challenging grow.

Oh! I really need to stress something about these girls. The light they have is quality, but not a lot of full sun. 5hrs max. I have lots of trees and it was the best compromise between stealth and light. Best light is noon on. It;s been HOT. Mid to upper 90s the last two weeks. Hmmmmmmm, that's how long she's been really raging. Now how in the hell does a UK breeder develop a girl like this that thrive sin this weather? LOL!

I gotta thank you again for getting me these seeds. I really appreciate it! These two girls have brought me lots of pleasure, satisfaction and mental stimulation. I had my morning coffee and smoke sitting on my garden wagon and looking at both girls. That's good stuff brother!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yeah, I've seen some set it up kinda like scaffolding-like.
WELL

She just touches the net!
Damn that pic sucks!:biggrin::haha:
:yay:
Above the net first thing this morning.
I'll let her grow thru a couple days and I'll start moving around the branches above the third net

Yeah...........this is what I see everywhere......................bud sites all over the place popping up!:yay:

Her rez is almost dry...........will be fully dry before noon...............over a gallon a day now. ...........So that means I'm gonna feed today with some EWC and not pick out the worms, FFJ, compost and a dose of Microbial Mass. I wanna have a nute bank going into heavy flower.
I'll give her 'little' sister some of the same.
What an amazing girl!

Dropped by a friend of mines in Toronto yesterday. Excuse the poor photo, but a few tall plants here. Don't be too harsh, haha.
Cheers guys
I've a friend there in Toronto . His girlfriend saw some pics of my canna and she got him to plant 3 I think. It kinda sounded like he planted some sort of a government issue photo strain. LOL! They are actually doing pretty well, but they are still in veg.

harvest Cannalush, auto-Mango Smile; 7/29
I know I've lagged on keeping up on the updates, been 20 days since my last update here, I've just had a lot going on in life and haven't had the time/energy to post updates as frequently as I should and as much as I'd like too. I wish I was able to participate in more chit chat around this place in general, I dig the forums around here.

All of my plants in this competition (autos) finished up a week or two ago though....Reading the original post of this thread again, If I understand things correctly, I was supposed to declare the plant that I choose as my official entry a week before I harvested it? I totally forgot about such a just wasn't able to keep up with updates over the last 2 weeks or so of the plants lives.

If I am not disqualified at this point, I would like to choose the Mango Smile as my official entry. (it was very tough for me to choose between the Mango Smile and the Creme de la Chem)

Here is the Mango Smile on the day of her harvest....

And the tip of a bottom flower....

I will post some pics of the other autos I had going in this comp (Creme de la Chem and Strawberry Mango Crumble) sometime soon, as well as a review of what I thought about growing these plants (since this was my first time growing autos) as well as a review of the flowers/smoke themselves. Just had a moment to post an update on here real quick.

And just to make sure I understand correctly...(If I am not disqualified) I need to choose two photographs to be used for the official poll? One of a cola/live bud, and of a dried bud...?....

Are any of you dealing with issues due to unrelenting rain? I am in the north east US and its been a pretty terrible season weather wise. 90 degrees at times and now rain rain rain. I am later in flower with a barneys zkittles og auto and Hindu kush auto and the bud rot is starting to ramp up. I prune as soon as I see some forming and spray a 5% hydrogen peroxide/ water mist to try to kill off spores that may linger. Is there anything else I can do or should I just chop early? I would estimate they have two to three weeks left before ideal harvest.
