Hey guys, so I will be doing a grow journal. It’s my first real grow, and I’m trying to really just learn this time. I feel as if I have already messed some stuff up. But here it goes
HARDWARE:
I am using a 40x40x80 green architecture grow tent.
8in vivosun carbon filtet
Aglex 2000w cobs

MEDIUM:
I am using roughly 2:1 coco and perlite.
I didn’t rinse my coco, or purlite, or did I buffer it.

NUTES:
Cal mag, and maxi bloom, and maxi grow.

SEEDS:
Garden of Green GSC from sensible seeds.
WATER:
I am using the water that collects from my dehumidifier.

I have 5 of them germinating.

now for specifics.
I’m using 3 gal fabric pots. I put the mix in, and I can already see I should have packed it down further.
either way, I mixed about 2 gallons of water out of my dehumidifier, and 1 table spoon of maxi grow. Phed to about 5.7
Put the seeds in a knuckle deep, and put the water around them. Trying not to force the seeds further down.
I then covered them with plastic.
My light is on just veg, about 40in up from the top of the pots. Figured I’d run it 18hrs a day right from the start?
I have read a lot on the Lucas method, but I have never found the combo out reference to using that, and coco, and auto fems. So I’m still a little confused. From what I read, I should maybe just be using only maxiBloom?
I have a PPM on the way.
should I be using just Phed water now until I see a real set of leafs?
let me know.
thanks @Mañ'O'Green for telling me to do this.
I love constructive criticism, but please keep in mind I’m about tapped on my budget for now.

Aglex 2000w Cobs real watts = 380 true watts; use this number as it is more relevant than the sales pitch.

Not rinsing and buffering the coco is a huge mistake that will bite you in the arse. You will have PH and lock-out problems that will plague the grow. Best to do it now!

It is very risky to use the water out of a dehumidifier. The water runs over aluminum fins and coils leaching metal and too much (really a tiny amount) will poison your plants - irreversible.

You treat coco like hydro (it is hydro) which means you feed from day 1and every time you fertigate, fertigate is the term for water with nutrients.

General Hydroponics Maxi Series requires 5 products minimum. Use them like the chart says but start at about 60% and bump up if no tip burn. If you start to get tip burn back off 10%

I use the gh maxi duo series, so if you have questions on the maxi series let me know. but i dont use coco, i do dwc and soil. you can do it with just maxigro and maxibloom. You dont need anything but what nutrients you there and calmag. i use koolbloom for a bit extra oomph through flower, and itll help out but that dosent add that much cost and will help out. but you can do it all wiht maxi gro and maxibloom

Is it’s possible to wash it once the seeds are already in it?

hi pal you have a great setup and ive done the Lucas formula and a few other feeds schedules and you asking questions about everything is the way to go i feel you should of rinsed your coco through but if your seedlings germinate and pop up fine . you will still be ok so until you have tiny seedlings don't over saturate your medium ive done it both ways even from coco right out of the bag and planted directly into the medium and ive been ok but as soon as you can you want to be feeding to run off with ph water and add a little calmag and you will be golden

Ok so I went out and researched the Expert Gardener coco and it says that it was washed? So maybe good enough to get away with it?

Not really, IMPO they are lost already. Let see if we can get some coco growers in here @Waira @Fitzy @St. Tom a good coco grower to help in here?
also @Mañ'O'Green has got masses more experience than me so any advice off him is very valuable i still pick his brains myself but @Overkillbill just keep it simple my friend and welcome to afn the most friendly canna site in the universe :bighug: :headbang:
