Hey Y'all, a kinda sorta update question kind thing...
If you look at the full pic of the TD, you will see that about half way down, the main cola is about good to go even more so today at d79, . but the lower buds could use another week or more.
would any of Y'ALL advice against cutting the main cola and brings the plant closer to lights to get the lower buds a cooking?
Thanks
p
We all look at our plants when they are finished and look for some magic, that would make our lower buds bigger and look like top ones. Well, there is no such magic, after grow is over. Many growers report doing that but nobody really knows, what is he/she getting with these technique. I think not much. One thing is sure, you loose time and energy with that but as you say, you have enough buds so time is not concern in your case.
So if it makes you feel better, just do it, but I do not think you will get much this way.
One more thing, after day 60 TD becomes more and more brownish, because pistills start to brown rapidly. Then it does not look so fresh any more. I always cut them between 62 and 68. That is also the time when they start to drink less and I see they are finishing slowly.
My last crop was 216g of solid buds and 13g of small almost unusefull buds.
Now if I look back, what would I get with 75 days instead of 62-65? I do not know, but not much.
Instead of prolonging plants life, I plant new ones paralelly at day 50 and so I see that I will reach 7 rounds per year in my perpetual TD grow.
Well, I think that you Think Different as me and if you do not care much about productivity as I do, just go for it.
But I suggest people that would cut main cola and wait for the rest to grow mature, to find some hard evidence that it works. Because I have not found any yet.
Besides, your plant in one litre pot does not go out of my head recently:clap:, I am preparing to plant two TD in 1,5 litre pots and see the miracle. Now I grow in 14to 18 litre pots and it is hard to control plants this way. It goes, but I am all crazy about the idea of having Sea of Green instead of Forest of Green.
