Update day 65 for Kushy. Kushy will get cut today. The decision has been made to flip the tent to 12/12 and get the CBD Shark Shock fem and clones into flower. Kushy is looking great and a quick check this morning showed that about a quarter of the trichomes have begun to turn amber, about 50% are cloudy and the remainder are clear. So I am content with bringing her down. Her buds are nice and firm as well and I can't quite put my finger on the smell she gives off when you give a quick squeeze to a bud. It has hints of Garlic or maybe shallots because there is a definite onion scent as well, and lemons and cat pee, and lions and tigers and bears oh my. I will post a few pics of her after I trim off all the leaves right before cut. but enjoy these for now.

TY Papa, it is also Update day for Bubba, my 23day old Bubba 76 photo fem. Since she is a continuation of my current Kush experiment, (first an auto and now a photo) I will be updating here as well as in the photo forum. And since Kushy had been topped and I like the results there, I topped Bubba recently so now I should get 8 roughly equal colas vice the single dominant main cola. So, since Kushy now sleeps with fishes, The tent goes to 12/12 tonight. Bubba, along with MOM(a Dinafem Shark Shock CBD fem) and the 2 MOM clones will need to get to work and start flowering. Here are a few pics of Bubba as she begins her transition.

So I promised some pics right before chop in all her trimmed beauty.

Notice the decided top heavy nature of this pig. Once she was topped she went crazy on these six main stems and those buds are rock hard little nuggets. At least in the top 16" of the plant. The small stuff at the bottom of the plant is more like cotton candy, whispy little white hairs of spun resin candy. This airy stuff will get decarbed and then go to the freezer to wait for the Oil run with the CBD rich material.

And also remember folks, waste not want not. Every leaf that came off of Kushy yesterday will be used in smoothies and juices. Prime example, this mornings juice. 5 stalks celery, 1 cucumber, 1 fuji apple, 2 D'Anjou pears, 2 valencia oranges, 4 lg carrots and approx 2 cups of loose fan leaves. All organic and yielded about 35 ounces of tasty healthy juice. Who needs hemp protein powder when you have hemp.

5 of the 6 colas have solid buds for at least 7" and 6 more inches of tightly spaced buds at the top, I like the outcome I've achieved with topping this plant, and topped Bubba the photo fem to provide 8 main stems. Ahh, the adventure of growing.

Update on drying progress. She hung in the dark for 48hrs, then I removed the tops and cleaned everything else off the stems. The pics show the entire haul in 2 boxes which measure 14.5"x11" , weight right now is 122g.

I'll update weight as we go, it is currently in paper bags for a couple days then jars.

So, I bagged everything in paper yesterday and put it back in the closet. I just went and checked on them, and the buds are dry and crumbly on the outside. Too dry, so I changed course just now and put her into jars with Boveda 62% packs in each jar. Just have to work the cure longer.

On a side note, I am currently vaping a few of the dried buds from Kushy as I write this. A couple of mischievous buds escaped the jars and I found them hiding on the Kitchen table, so as a good Pagan I sacrificed them in the grinder of death and am currently cremating the remains. First Impression: PINE SOL!!! I'd swear I just licked a Pine Sol bottle. Flavor subsides quickly and it is a great little body buzz right from the beginning. Kinda disconnected from your body and comfortable, yet aware and able to summon motion if needed. Me likey so far. Now I just have to keep some around long enough to get a good cure.

Update Day 27 for Bubba (the Bubba 76 photo fem from Emerald Triangle) which is the second half of the Kush run I am doing here. Kushy the auto fem has finished and Bubba the photo fem is in transition to flower right now. Bubba is looking great in puberty as she transitions to flower and stretch. By topping her when I did, I have 8 main stems that are now growing up and looking for light already. I began tucking fan leaves yesterday to expose all 8 growth tips to good strong light. Last night, just before lights out, I re-arranged the tent and added another MarsHydro 60x5w LED. Right now I have 3 300W rated LEDs in the tent. The 96x3 Reflector series is set high above MOM and the 2 60x5w Old style LEDs are hanging above Bubba and the clonies. This should get interesting.

Faded, just when you wanted to follow, I ran away and hid for awhile. It's been crazy and hectic here for several months, cancer issues with the wife, she is doing better now and actually handled it better than I did. I also finished off the CBD Shark Shock fem and clones for an 8oz haul, and a topped Emerald Triangle Bubba 76 photo, which is great in vape. But I have also started a 10 plant, 5 strain auto grow. I have 3 ET Dragon reg auto, 3 Afghan Kush ryder fem auto from World of Seeds, 2 Girl scout cookie fem auto from Fast Buds, 1 El Alquimista fem auto from Samsara, and 1 Sweet Soma fem auto from OO seeds.

All 10 plants are on day 34, all 10 are female(lucky with the ET's) and most are into flowering in earnest. El Alquimista is the smallest of the bunch, and for the life of me I don't know why. I will continue with them as I have been, since everyone else is doing great. I have 3 different phenos in the Afghan Kush Ryder, 1 looks very sativa like, 1 is obviously a bushy indica pheno, and the last one is right between the 2. I'm excited about this one and the Girl Scout Cookies. Both have a high THC rating (21+) which I don't know if I will hit, but I figure I should get some quality meds to include in my wife's RSO.
