Hey Andy. Yeah I am trying to fix that. I have to keep my Photos in a seperate thread. The Jems & Dragons I wanted to do seperately so it's easier for Mossy to check in when he wants to. But from here on out this will be my perpetual auto grow thread.

Hey buds. 3 Sweet Tooth & 1 AutoBlueberry in the dirt tonight. I prepped them to tier in 16oz cups. Those of you who know my style of growing I always seem to be experimenting. Well, this is because with every grow I learn something new or see something that makes me think. Lately I've been noticing (because of the Party Cup Comp having to start and stay in a 16oz cup) that the smaller the starting space I start my plants in the faster they have shown sex.
Now I have some in 16oz cups, 32oz cups, & 44oz cups right now. All prepped to be tiered if they turn fem. So I have a pretty good comparison going on right now and I'm finding out no matter the strain, the smaller the cup the quicker the sex shows. I'm using the same grow medium (Happy Frog) and same Myco product (Great White) for all of them. Only difference is starting cup size.
16oz averages between 12-16 days, 32oz averages between 16-23 days, 44oz can take up to exactly a month to show. Since I know my plants are healthy and are thriving in their set up the only thing I can conclude from this is that the LONGER the space for the plant to establish roots the longer it will take to show sex. The SHORTER the space the quicker it will show sex. Now I know I need to do this more than one run to say for sure but I have heard many people say on the forum that "If your auto doesn't auto within 17 days it's not healthy or something is wrong." I am finding this to be false and I don't want to sound all big right now and say this to be fact. But, I think I'm well on the way to prove it to be fact. Or at least a significant average, let's say 17 days or less they will sex, 95% of the time, started in a 16oz cup.
This would be significant in my mind (mind you I'm stoned so I could be running with a theory) because you can control veg in Photos. What if you could control veg with Autos? Or at least dial in a small window of certainty. What if you wanted your Auto to veg for a month? And all you would need to do is start in a 44oz cup? LOL am I just way out in left field buds or what? I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this if anyone cares to weigh in?

Cool observations Rebel. I couldn't say, not enough experience, but you just might be on to something. Keep testing and observing!
One thought- my Rapid Afghan went into a 2.5 gal airpot as a seed and she showed sex in 12 Days. The Easy Ryder went in as a seed the same day and sprouted on the same day, but hasn't shown sex yet on day 17. (I'm hoping it's a dude!)

hey WVR,sorry i'm so late bro!you know how it is this time of year when you have kids.well i've got 3,and not only do i have to shop for them for christmas,but all three of thier birthdays are on the same day too.Jan.7th right after christmas!needless to i'm a broke

Hey Noods! Thanks for the comment and sharing your input. 2.5 gallon airpot... Hmmm. That is way larger than I've gone. Well, actually I did an AA in a 3 gallon once but it was a mutant turned hermi and it showed at almost exactly 30 days if I remember correctly. I have heard tremendous and seen tremendous things about the airpots. Whatever it is has to do with the root development for sure. Maybe because of the airpots' design, it allows for quicker maximum root development... If you're hoping for a male I hope you get one bro!

Hey Mr. NS! No worries man! This time of year is insane and time consuming. I don't have kids but I do know the importance of spending quality time with them. I have twin nephews that turn a year old tomorrow and their mother (my sister in law) her BD is 1.12.11 LOL so I feel bad for her husband! Twin boys, christmas, wife's BD all within a month. I have 4 in pots and 4 tiered. The pots showed sex later (some still havent) and seem bushier. I am on day 19 now.
If you see on my thread #233 Andy has had kind of opposite results though. just thought i'd throw it in the mix.

I have to tell you about the funniest (my wife thinks it's disgusting lol) thing. I have a sick sense of humor anyway but the last month a few times I have walked into the grow room and man it smells like Farts! Seriously like sulphur, rotten eggs, like someone just cut a cheesy ass fart! LOL I have been scratching my head over this...
Well, today I walk in there just after the lights came on and it smelled like farts again. So I'm like that's it I gotta sniff this one out. Well I start sniffing the tops of the big girls and sure enough the Syrup smells like FARTS! LMAO this strain has secret genetics or something because I can't find what it is anywhere. And now I know why! The stem smells like peachy diesel and so do the buds but for some strange reason the very top of the cola smells like farts. My wife says cabbage lol she hates it. LOL it just cracks me up I don't know why. It is nasty but it amuses the shit out of me! LOL I keep reassuring her that it surely won't taste like farts! But, she's skeptical...
