Thanks for the kind words, Squid. Yeah, I really envy the guys who can hang out with their grow many times a day, or even have it right in the closet in their room. But my grows are proof that these plants can get along just fine without somebody fussing over them all the time. :D

I definitely recommend the bathroom fan that I'm using. I have two of them and they've both been flawless and quiet. If you wanted to put the filter inside the tent and pull through it you could very easily build a cardboard box for the fan intake. I never felt the need as I've had no issues with smells getting out.

For sig links, see here: https://www.autoflower.org/f15/signature-link-5097.html

I don't have any sort of special intake for my tent. There are two flaps at the bottom that I leave hanging free, and the fan pulls enough to create negative pressure and draw in air. I grow in an unfinished basement area that is well vented to the outside, so the air comes from there and is vented back out into the same space.

I've got a crop of seedlings going right now so I'll have a new grow posted soon. Let me know if you have any other questions, & drop me a line when your grow is posted so I can check in.

What's up Andy! Just read this whole thread too. You do an awesome job especially considering you are in and out and can't stay on it constantly and had a few nute deficiencies. I really hope mine turn out at least the same as yours. I have an ok ventilation setup as of now but I am really thinking I will order that same bathroom fan you got it's a steal! Thanks for finding it. Especially since you can use a carbon filter with it, even though I've read it's better to pull air through than push. Still a cheap easy setup for small tents like ours. I am a fan of HTGSupply(if that's ok to say here) and generally get my gear from there i.e. tent, led light, smart pots, nutes etc. Putting my two Nlights in the dirt today and starting my thread. Couple questions: How do you get those links to your other thread at the bottom of your posts? Sorry for the nubeness. And what kind of intake do you have for your tent? And where is your air going to and from? Thanks a million.

Squid out. Peace :bong:

Ok cool. That's what I thought you had. Some sort of passive intake. That's what I am going to do but my tent is in a pretty small closet, not a whole lot bigger than my tent which is this one: http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Grow-Tent---Size-S-22-x-36-x-63---Silver-Lined.asp. I saw another fan that Muddy recommended that is pretty cool too. My issue is that I am thinking that I will also probably need a muffler that goes along with the fan and filter to cut down on noise, as well as a speed control for the fan. Right? Sometimes I need to close my closet depending on who is at my house. I just want to make sure I'm getting proper ventilation because I have some slight heat issues and I am using LED's. Otherwise I'm a go. Either way other plants and s few bag seeds have been doing fine. And that's passive intake through the flap in the back and a pretty cheap little 6" heater/fan that's on fan setting only and pulling out of one of the top openings. But I know I need more. Anywho, just filling in and getting input. Thanks again.

That tent is a little smaller than mine, so if you went with the 90cfm Air King that I have, you'd have plenty of airflow so you could probably use a speed control to cut down on noise even further. The inline fans tend to be louder, so I would think you'd definitely want a speed control and muffler to help with stealth. Not sure about getting fresh air into and old air out of a tight space since I've never had to deal with it, but once you get your grow log going, there will be plenty of people to help with any problems that arise.

Sweet. That's what I figured. I posted my first thread of the grow journal in the Indoor Growing section last night. No pics or anything yet just a lay of the land. Thanks man!

Hey Andy. I was here checking out that fan you got again. I have decided that I will get that one as it works for you in a similar space and the carbon filter also seems to work the way you have it too And that fan is half the cost of one of those inline fans and looks perfect for me. Anywho, I was wondering how you hook it to a standard power cable for use in a tent? And if a speed control can be installed as well. Thanks dude.

The fan does not come with a plug attached, so you need to buy one or scavenge one from a heavy gauge extension cord or other appliance. I bought a cord in the hardware store next to where the extension cords were, and it was under $10. Connect the hot, neutral, and ground wires with the included wire nuts, tape it, and you're good to go. A speed control would be wired in the same way.

Cool I can do that. So a speed controller would be wired into the same three connectors as the power cable? And I suppose I could find that all at Home Depot or something? Thanks man.

They probably have speed controllers at the big box hardware stores, but I haven't ever looked. You can probably get a better deal buying one online.
