Indoor Sweet Skunk Auto & Tangelo Rapido Auto - Kush's Low Budget Grow

The Tangelo Rapido is a weird one.
They said it was going to autoflower. It didn't.
They said it was a Sativa domiant. It isn't.
I mean, look at it - it is squat, branchy and bushy like a true Indica. Those fan leaves are humongous and I was wondering: should I defoliate this girl a little bit? Remove the largest fans, especially those on the lower side that are just above the brim of the pot?
Would the plant benefit from such a procedure, or would defoliation stunt it?

a few defoilate, and a few do it quite a lot.some tuck the fans under any new budsites.
as this plant isnt playing ball with us,i say plucking half a dozen leaves off wont hurt it much at all.
good luck.

Alright, I just defoliated both plants.

Went heavy on the Tangelo Rapido since it is still vegging and will soon shoot new leaves. I think it will be a bush again in one week or so.

I was much more careful with the Sweet Skunk, which is currently flowering and this means it will no longer grow new leaves. I only removed the leaves that were throwing a shadow on the lower nugs of the Sweet Skunk.

I just LST-ed the Tangelo Rapido. Tied the side branches down to the brim of the pot.

Also gave both plants a dose of brown Kristalon - third time I am feeding the Sweet Skunk flowering nutes and first time for the Tangelo Rapido (which is still not flowering).

I don't know if flowering nutes can trigger the flowering process, but I sure hope they can, because that Tangelo plant is very stubborn and just would not show pistils even under 12/12.

100% autoflower isnt strictly true its more like 99.8% every now and again it happens an auto wont auto.sometimes if an auto is stressed in some way there is a 1% chance it will hermi and a 1% chance it will change to a photo.
that may make no sense to you, thats just the way i see it.
nice bit of bending and no breakages:thumbsup:

Looks like the Tangelo Rapido has changed to a photoperiod plant. The big question is when will it flower.
I am now using it for all sorts of experiments - already tried defoliation, LST, tested flowering nutes on it.... have nothing to lose. I may even top it or FIM it just to see what happens.

Five days after the first round of LST and the Tangelo Rapido looked like this. It had recovered from the defoliation as well and was turning into a leafy bush again.

I then decided to torture the Tangelo Rapido to the max and trimmed off all of its tops - all the side tops, the main top, everything!
I brutalized the poor plant, just to see what will happen.
Here is the pile of trimmed tops. I think I can see preflowers on some these, but I am not quite sure about that, because the new leaves look thin and white - a lot like pistils.

And finally, I did a second round of LST on the Tangelo Rapido - bent the main top and tied it down to the brim of the pot.
If this thing ever flowers, it will have at least 20 main colas, lol.

I just took them out of the old soil. Their roots were barely showing through the Jiffy membrane and 95% of them were contained inside of the Jiffy. I will never use Jiffy pellets again.

I transplanted the ill babies in new soil, an expensive one that had lots of promises written on its label.
Let's see if they will recover in their new environment. I am fucking determined to save them.
I had that happen before sucks. Now I cut the mesh of whatever it is off I haven't had any problems since
