Sweet Seeds Sweet Seeds: Disappointment

Yeah man, I don't know anyone that germinates seeds in a glass of water. I have heard of leaving them in till they sink but that is just to soften up the pod. Take it out once it sinks and place it in it's final pot. Like yoda said, you probably drowned those and that is not the breeders fault bro.

Chalk that loss up to lesson learned.

dude , ive forgotten seeds for a week , they sat in water with one inch+ long tails , they wont drown untill the oxigen in the water is depleated

my thought is they were over heated because of the heat mat , you dont need one when soaking seeds , once you put them in the medium or even paper towel we are talking a different story

Thats great advice bb. +rep for sharing that experience.

@bob had to :slap: you +5! Always using the heating Matt thinking it was sorta like
The cable box (which never worked out as one of my animals would always some how find a way to knock the cup over... Thanks for the great advice man! That's why I love this hobby so much, you never stop learning.

Thanks for the nice response Tommy.
The video's on youtube told me to do so, and I was clearly misinformed.
Oh well, its my first grow and a learning experience.
Will make sure to buy from the bank itself next time

Now that you reminded me, I forgot I had a seed sunk in h2o for probably two months... It has no tail and is sitting in a moist ziplock back with a paper towel in there... I'll see if it germs. Its in soil in the morning... then I'll wait to see if it pops. I'll post back if it does.

Lessons learned through experience, you can't buy that kind of knowledge. Sorry about your baby, but chin up there's many more where that came from right? Leaving a karma clou

Hi Chingro!

You're welcome styles rasta

I hope you get better results next time. I know loosing 1 single seed is usually not a reason to get desperate but I also understand that when you only have that seed and no extra seeds it can be a bit boring to loose it, so I understand your point ;)

Try also to always have a couple of extra beans around next time you germinate more seeds, that's the advice I forgot to share in my previous post, hehe..

All good to your other plants, I hope you get good results from them so that the loss of that plant can be compensated.

Kind regards,

tommy
