LMAO I read 50% say its like hydro so keep ph 5.8-6.2 range
50% say keep it 6.3-6.5

Anyone use it that could point me in the right ph please

Thanks good people:lol:

ive been using sunshine #4 for over a year now with my autos and i always treat is just like dirt. 6.3-6.5. dont listen to anything else, ive had the most amazing results with SunShine and FoxFarm

Thanks much, I kinda thought that myself. I just killed a bunch of Big bangs auto with some bs soil from lowes. I got a bale as a free sample of Sunshine adv and giving it a try. I tryed transplanting one of the big bangs into the new soil-less mix after I washed the roots. So far after 4 days I think she may just make it doesn't look the best but hasn't died yet.

Well the great thing about sunshine #4 is that is has a small amount of starter nutes already in it. It's perfect stuff, not to dusty or to much perlite. Last time my hydro store was out of #4 so I had to get pro-mix but it dries out way to fast for me. Are you using just sunshine? Or do you mix it with a potting soil?

No soil in most of my pots, had to transplant 1 that was 22 days old left a little of the old crap soil in the root ball. Maybe should have washed it all off but the root ball was massive, and as I was trying to clean chunks of dirt started falling off tearing roots with it. So I potted it quickly before much more damage was done. 4 days later cant tell if its going to pull thru are not. Top is still green but the bottom leaves are yellow maybe slow death.

Depends on which Pro Mix you use and the type of lights you are running. BX holds a little more moisture than HP and is best for HPS lights. HP for CFLs, T5s or LEDs.

Stay with the 6.3 - 6.5 range. I grow in Pro Mix, which is also a soil less mix, and have experimented with different pH ranges. Even though some say to run lower pH in soil less, I've found the 6.3 to 6.5 works best.

If using dolomite lime to buffer your soil, I reccomend buffering it to 6.1 to start with. Let it sit and work its magic for at least a week and then re-check the pH. I just mixed up a batch of SS#4 but over-limed it. So I mixed a bag of roots organics in to bring it back down. Ended up with pH of 6.1. But after two weeks of sitting, it has risen to 6.4. I will always prepare my mixes ahead of time from now on!

LOL my dumb ass added to much lime.... got a new pen today and my ph is at 7 any way I can bring this down?????? Plz don't say ph down Iv tried. no matter how low of ph I take my water down my run off is 6.9 to 7.
I added 1 tbs lime to 1 gallon of soil... To much... I have plants already in soil so adding more soil is not an option. This time I added 10 tbs to 15 gallons of soil and its ph at 6.3 - 6.2 mind you its sunshine adv #4

any ideas how to bring that soil from 7 to 6.3-5 fast???? And yes its fine to say dumb ass the wife tells me now every time she se me :D

BTW I have the new soil mix for some Think Different & Big Domina........Was wondering how that was going for ya

How does the number 4 compare to the number 8? Im using the 8 right now. Seems good. Guy at the hydro shop said it is the same as promix.
