Missed the last week or so man. Looks like she's coming on a treat Steely. Are you sticking to the same feeding regime as last time?

Thanks G, no i'm starting off with a lower pH this time since i've been reading about nutrient uptake vs pH in hydro.

She is 16cm tall now, inter-nodal gaps are 2cm, from week 4 she will start getting more vertical growth.

She's loving the environment :

pH 5.4 - 5.6, EC 1.2, res temp 22C, box temp 25C (lights off res is 18C, box is 20C).

She is about to take off like a rocket! That sir is exactly how a plant of that age should look. I want to see a Veg Of The Month thread along with BOM! Who's with me(I know I am a geek) but for real this is perfect! Subbed in on this one, and you cannot go wrong with DP they are the best in the game hands down(just ask Tang) they have been breeding longer than anyone and are suuuuper obsessed with potency and yeild, you wont be dissapointed.

Noticed the other day that the light shield had started lifting, turns out a couple of the monster roots are breaking through the surface under the shield :



In my last grow (my first hydro) i noticed algae forming in the transparent level-indicator, but it took almost the whole grow to form very much.

This grow i've already cleaned the tube once and it's back again :



I'm just wondering why it grew very slowly last time and really quickly this time ... ?

I'll do plant photos on Sunday when i do a res change.

I would do the 8 step remedy if you havent already, I don't know how you cleaned your system last time but alage is the hardiest thing on the planet(heck we all came from the stuff) and you have to sterilize it when you clean it in my opininon. I will have to go back steely and look to see what kind of nutes you are using(organic or sterile) I have found that alage is harder to control with the natural stuff.

Holy cow those roots are montser, It reminds me of killer tomoatoes those things will shoot out taproots out of the main stalk just like that.

As for why the algae came back faster this time, it could be two things I think. Either you didn't get it all when you cleaned it and the little bastards bloomed again but had better conditions ie warmer rez temp by .01 degrees(alage is like that just a small difference in temp can make a big difference from what I have seen) Or you are using something in your nutes that is causing the alage to grow and there was just more of it this time. Either way it is one of the easier things to deal with because most usually spot it before it becomes a big problem.

Very good point Archie, yes, just in the tube. And, yes, most of my socks have holes in them!

I'll put a sock over it tomorrow after the res=change, you won't believe how much she's grown this week, it always amazes me every time.
